Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I am only 3 months out and my weight has been stuck at 174 for 3 weeks. I didnt mind when it slowed down to 1 or 2 lbs a week as long as it was coming off. Really starting to get depressed. I'm doing everything by the book but afraid my body has just gotten use to less food and more exercise.

| Three months is a normal plateau time. I remember being in the same boat as you. And all the lovely people here reassured me if I stuck to it the weight would start to drop again. And it did! Whatever you do, do not start getting back some of your old habits. Hang in there, it will start again.

| Super Moderator | Awww (((((HUGS)))))) How much are you actually eating? It may be that it is time to up your intake a little bit (with the blessing from your surgeon) to let your body know that you are not starving, and kick start the weight loss. Of course, you need to stick to the guideline of your surgeon and nut, and not deviate your food choices with this. Stick to protein first, and lots of water. As Jeanne says, though, 3 month is about the time most hit a very noticeable stall. You will start losing again, though for sure. Your weight loss will not be in one smooth fell swoop, but in humps and bumps.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I hit a stall around 3 months as well. Just keep following the program! Are you keeping track of your intake on fit day or something similiar? That helps me.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Your surgery was 1 week before me. I just came of a stall for about 2 weeks. Hopefully that was my stall. If I hit another stall I will go crazy!! I had one that lasted almost 2 weeks in my first month and then one that lasted almost 2 weeks in my second month. I guess the good thing is...when I come off...I lose like 6-7lbs a week.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I had surgery the day after you. I've only dropped 40lbs since surgery. I consistently lose 1-3 lbs a week with only 1 minor stall in the begining. I never get the big drops like other people, but hopefully I won't stall too long either. I just want another 10-15lbs down and anything else will be a bonus! You're doing so wonderful, this is just a hiccup!

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Rinehart, you are doing fine. You should go to my surgeon's website and plug you statistics in to the "weight loss planner". The website is as follows: Elmer L. Valin M.D. - Post Op Planner - Your BMI and Goal Weight Results. According to this, if I plug your height and starting weight into it you should have lost 38 lbs. by now. This figure is using a "70% of total excess weight loss"(which they say is average). So.....you are really 10 lbs ahead of schedule! I go and look at this chart when I am feeling down about the pace of weight loss and it always makes me feel better.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Wow! I like that little calculator! According to the chart, it states that at 7 months out I should be at 220 lbs and I'm at 187!!!! I've been this weight for almost a month and I'm getting very discouraged. I had some issues the middle of March and I wasn't eating much at all, mostly raw vegetables, but since probably the second week of April, I'm back on track. I'm eating so much better and I'm really trying to get all the protein in. So, it's weird, I'm eating more food (and alot more protein) and I'm not losing or gaining. I know that it's just a stall and it will start losing again, but it is frustrating. Plus, I just started back to work and I know this will help me. But, anyway, thanks again for the link to that calculator! |
