Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass    |  timing is everything i have truly been blessed with perfect timing so many times in my life, but this situation truly takes the cake. i dont know if you all know but at the beginning of last month i found the PERFECT position working in a dr's office as a patient advocate. I had never met the dr prior to applying for the position, in fact, i am not REALLY employed by the dr directly. I work for a company that he has joined. he is going private in a sense, joining a "boutique medicine" group. I work for the company that he has joined and i explain the benefits and enroll his current patients in the new plan. enough about that. i sat with the dr the other day and let him know that i was impressed with how he practiced medicine. he takes SO MUCH TIME with his patients, that they generally wait upwards of an hour to see him, and not one of them complains. anyhow, i told him how i was impressed with how he listens and spends time explaining things to patients, he will even show them on diagrams what is wrong with them. i have never experienced that. I think in the month that I have been in his office he has treated me several times for different ailments or what have you without question; as if he was my treating physician. Then I started to think, I think my average dr visit at my pcp is 10 minutes (after waiting an hour in the waiting room and 30 minutes in the exam room  ) and he pays NO attention to what i am saying and writes scripts for what i ask and then leaves the room. well, the dr that i work for offered to take me on as a patient, free of charge ( i would have had to pay the enrollment fee had he not offered, which i was contemplating doing just to be a patient of his  ) he has EXTENSIVE experience with bypass patients and has a working relationship with my surgeons office due to it. he sat and discussed my entire medical history over a 2 hour lunch and told me what i needed to do in terms of maitaining, and keeping my levels up etc. he guessed of course not having my labs in front of him. but i thought it was pretty cool of him to do that and make that offer. not to mention he gave me a b12 shot I dont know if im supposed to keep that a secret or not  so i now have a new pcp. one who cares and has experience  i was wondering what i was going to do about this situation because 1) i dont really like my pcp 2) i dont have insurance at the moment 3) i need a dr who knows what they are doing with respect to this bypass stuff...funny how things fall into place.
