Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I'e read far too many posts on another site and talked to many posties that got farther out and experienced the insomnia issues who took ambien and discovered later..when they started gaining some weight they were "sleep eating"..

personally I take the simply sleep and the other generic version which is a liquid gel, these are without the tylenol or execedrin (although execedrin works well for me too) and when i lie down I take melatonin under the tongue sublingual.

Some (not all) pills get to be absorbed differently post op.
Liquids and sublinguals are not affected.
It would be best to ask your surgeon first, before your PCP, as your surgeon will be more familiar with how medication affects you post op, unless your PCP is very experienced with bypass posties.

Ambien has had many recent post on another forum site. Incidences reported: eating in the middle of the night and not remembering the next day, except for noting the messy kitchen or open Ben & Jerry's ice cream container, etc.--sleep walking--doing other tasks around the house--etc. One woman did eat 3 times in one week while using Ambien. I told her to try a different sleep medication.

Sleep eating is eating when sleep walking. Yes, it can happen.

I take an over the counter sleeping pill, I have had insomnia for years and was on ambien, before surgery.

My son sleep eats...he is 10 and a half and has been a sleep walker since he was 4. I would find him in the kitchen eating a whole pack of bologna while asleep, he doesnt take sleeping pills, but his doc suggested melatonin to help him sleep, it helps and he doesnt sleep walk when taking it, when he doesnt take it he has terrible night terrors and sleep walks/eats

I have taken ambien for years and never had a problem. I have heard of sleep eating but I think it can happen to people without ambien as well. My doc told me it would be ok to take but not the ambien CR which is a time release medication. There are different kinds out there so just ask your doc.
