Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass |  left side pain question i had RNY surgery on tuesday of this week (may 6th) and up until yesterday i was having daily improvement on how i was feeling. yesterday when i was getting up from my trusty recliner it felt as though someone stuck a knife in my left side. that area has been tender but now it was really hurting.  i had a difficult time sleeping last night, so took some of my pain medicine. today it is a little better. i am not able to do any complete bending over forward, and getting up from a chair hurts in that one spot. i still have a drain and there hasn't been a change in the drainage as far as being more bloody or anything.did anyone experience left side pain? and how long is it this sensitive? thanks ~

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | That's actually the only place I had pain (other than gas pains). I made very good friends with my diluadid PCA and my hydrocodone when I got home until it let up. It mostly hurt me to take deep breaths, but it was definitely the left side only.

They actually have to cut thru a muscle to get the stapler in, so it takes a little longer to heal. When it leaves you, you will be totally shocked. But, you will know you are over the biggest hump. I kept pressure on my left side the entire time by applying a pillow.
