Red face ok another calorie question

am i supposed to watch my calories???? i know i probly dont eat to muny any ways i mainly keep my eye on sugar content when im out shopping and protein....beleive me there is ALOT I CANT EAT.... cause every thing has so much sugar and i cant eat more the 7g and thats pushing it for me...and the only dairy thing i can have is low fat string cheese (which i might add is what i mainly live off from). so if im to be counting calories how many calories should i be consuming? i know im still early out but i want to get the most of this tool i possibly can....

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I never counted calories. I was never told to. But I "believe" that early out you just need to focus on your protein, sugar, liquid, vitamin intake. Those were the main things I was told to concentrate on. Of course, watch your carbs, but I think we all know that's a "given". BTW great job so far!!!

Being so early out calories aren't as big of an issue- except you probably aren't getting enough! My nutritionist recomends keeping a food log from day 1 on fit day.com. That way you can see trends for stalls and dumping and what not. Also, a little later on you can watch your intake. I know some days I tend to graze and when I log it, I am surprised how a bite here and there adds up. The log keeps me on track better than anything, even though it is hard for me to do it consistently. Just do what works for you- however, remember in the long run your calories do determine if you lose or gain-

I have logged my foods in Fitday.com for over a week, and the total calories range from 500-980! And I am only 2 weeks out! Mostly the calories in the yukky barfy protein shakes. Anyone know if the calories go down as "real" food is re-introduced?

I think the only number you are suppose to be counting right now if protein. I'm sure Doc can confirm this for us.

I also use sparkpeople and I am averagind 1,000 - 1,200 per day and I am only 8 weeks out. I wish I got full after a few bites but I just don't and I am very worried that this tool will not work for me. There has been mention of too much protein. I hit 60 or more every day. How does this cause a stall?

Count your protein and water for now. Further out, calories may become an issue, but it's a may, not a must.
So long as you stick to healthy food choided that your pouch can accept in one sitting, and do not graze, then you shouldn't have to worry about numbers where calories are concerned.

I only started to count my calories about a month and a half ago and I also use fitday.com to keep track I find it so easy to do it that way. and I am almost 6 months out and I range anywhere from 680-988 and I did make 1100 one day and that was only because I had some ice cream, so the calories do add up.

But for you now I would just concentrate on the proteins and water intake for now. You are doing well.
