Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass |  i was not prepared.... Ok...no matter how many posts I have read and how prepared I thought I was...I was not prepared for hair loss. I noticed I started shedding slightly about 3 weeks or 1 month ago. I would lose about 5 strands in the shower and I had never noticed it before so I thought to myself....this is hair loss?! Well after about 3 weeks of that and I have been past the 50 pound mark that everyone talks about for a month...I thought secretly...this hairloss thing is not that bad...I am going to be the lucky one and not lose that much. Well today...I am on the phone with a client and running my hands through my hair and my hand comes out with a clump of hair.  In a panic I do it again and again trying to get it all out. I look down at my shirt and saw hair all over my shirt. I started to have a panic attack and tears were rolling down my face. I said to the lady on the phone "I will need to call you back I am having an emergency". How rediculous is that...and emergency...something I knew all along was going to happen now has me physically feeling sick. I am sure this will pass but right now I am not sure if I am so upset because of losing the hair or what an idiot I made of myself on the phone. Hormones...hairloss...this is not a good day for me.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass  | I lost alot of hair by the handsful. The top of my head, as you can see in my earlier pictures is pretty bare. It is starting to fill out now and starting to look better. So do not worry, it all comes back. My daughter has such thick hair and I could hardly believe when she lost so much hair and she had a bald spot on the back of her head. But it is thicker than ever now, my daughters hair. But her and I did not let it bother us becasue we are much healthier now with all the weight loss and we knew that our hair will comes back. The hair is NOT gone forever but the extra weight is gone forever and you are a much healthier person.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | It was traumatic for me too. I didn't realize how vain I was about my hair until that happened. Hang in there, it doesn't last forever. I took biotin and also switched to low fat milk insead of skim milk. I had read on a post here (I think it was by Bree) that the little bit of extra fat in the milk would help slow the hair loss down. It helped mine.
