Exclamation how to eat more

interesting talk with my dr. DocSanae please tell me your opinion on this.

he explained to me how to get more food in and it did work. i am embarassed inate a whole sandwich today. i havent been able to do that in a year.

he told me to spread out the eating time to an hour minimum. regardless of whether it gets cold or not. so eat something that is edible at room temp because i cant reheat. mix textures which will help with how much i can get in, and concentrate on chewing. well i did the eating over the course of an hour and i ate an entire hot pastrami on rye sandwich. i didnt feel like i was going to burst which was a first. all this time i stuck to the 1/2 hour meal i was only getting in about 6 ounces. i would honestly say the whole sandwich was possibly a little more than a cup of food. i just hope i didnt stretch anything i guess my other concern is whether or not this will be bordering on grazing? i mean the longer you stretch out a meal the more you are actually grazing by picking at the food, no?

i did the same at dinner and was able to eat the whole lean cuisine. 7 ozs. i get the little entrees. the only issue i have now is that this will throw off my drinking. i may not get in all 64 ozs before bed unless i stay up 2 hours later...i'll figure it out.

just thought i would share incase anyone else i having similar difficulties getting in more food.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Extending out your eating time isn't the same as grazing. Grazing is mindless eating in a sense. Taking longer in eating is not, since you have a preset amont of food to eat, and you stop when you finish that food. Which is a good thing.

Probably with time, you will start being able to get in the same amount in a shorter period of time. You haven't stretched anything, but what you did is to 1) reduce the volume of food by chewing well, and 2) giving time for your pouch to prepare for food (Yes, that's right. There's actually a time lag between when we put food in front of ourselves, to when the pouch/stomach is ready to accept everything. That's why the "feast with your eyes first"--gears up your stomach into the digesting mode.)
Now, you may get scared by 2) that you will go back to your previous eating pattern, but that's not so. Your pouch can accept only so much total, anyway, so, unless you gorge yourself on stuff like ice cream and chocolate and all, you'll be fine.

I can still only eat a 1/2 a sandwich, but since I've ended my relationship with bread (who still won't talk to me, by the way), I don't do sandwiches often...I actually miss that....I LIKE SANDWICHES!!! I've been eating Lean Cuisines for a while, and I gotta tell ya...somedays, I can eat the whole thing and want more....other days, I can barely eat 3 bites....

this tool is so strange sometimes....I went to dinner last night and had nearly all of a six ounce filet mignon...it was to DIE FOR....I figured I'd get up this morning gaining weight....and I actually lost?!?!??!?!?

You are going to do fine Kenya....just remember the moderation and everything we have learned over the last year.....you have some so far.....and the tool will work as long as you let it!

Grazing is more of the sitting and eating while watching tv and not realizing how much you are eating. I actually did that last night I wanted a small amt of dried fruit and nuts. I really missed that. I should have weighed or measured my serving because I just sat there and ate till I realized I was ill..lol.. I didnt dump or anything but had a sad pouch for a few hours. So I wont take the whole bag of anything anymore..lol..
