Today I finished up the last job I have scheduled for the summer, so apart from a few trips I have planned, I'm off 'til mid-August! On my way home I made a bit of a detour past the Outlet Center and checked out Wilson Leather. (I LOVE the smell of that store!!) They're having a big clearance so I splurged and bought a really nice tan leather sports coat (size M ;^) for about a quarter of its sticker price. I've always wanted one, but I waited so I wouldn't have to kill TWO cows to make it!  Then I came home and took my honey out for dinner. Our town is just under 10,000 population. We have a Taco John's, a McDonalds, two pizza joints, a truly mediocre Chinese buffet and a really good Mexican place. So she had the enchilada plate and I ordered carnitas. That's a fried, roasted pork plate. Didn't know if I could do it, but it went down easy and looks like it's gonna stay the night! Of course I got a box and brought home enough for two more meals. Had some chips and salsa, but exercised a degree of restraint unknown before the surgery and only had a small amount. Just enough. Also had some refried beans but not much rice, and only half of a small flour tortilla. And I ate all my guacamole and half my salad. Now I'm sitting here typing one-handed because I was just handed an ice cream bar, and you know they won't wait for you! (Blue Bunny No Sugar Added is a life saver around our home!!) Unfortunately, she brought it up while I was in the middle of a bottle of water I put a Crystal Light lemonade stick in. Now THERE"S a flavor combination you ought to try once before you die!! Chocolate coated vanilla ice cream with a sour lemonade chaser! WOW, what a kick!!  Tomorrow I'm going to celebrate my freedom by working on a landscaping project out back of the garage. Look for a newly skinny guy with a shovel slinging sand and dirt trying to level off a 60' x 20' parking pad. I have to do this to get the bike out, and it might get up to 70 F by Saturday, so I don't want to miss it if I can get some riding in! Formal exercise for its own sake isn't my favorite, but I do enjoy a good hard day's physical labor when I get the chance. It's gonna be a good summer! I can feel it in my bones. I have to trust them, 'cause they're about all that's left of me!  da perfesser

Your adventures sound magnificent, perfesser! I am sorry you did not get to enjoy our 105F heat storm here last weekend to help warm MN for an early summer.
