Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass  |  OK Duh You gals know I have had some problems with my thyroid levels since surgery and me duh had been thinking that it was because they were going up. But one piece of the puzzle, the heart palpitation's should have told me it was low and not high.. Anyway..swat me in the head like I should have had a V8 right.. So yesterday I went to my family dr to check on my med change. They lowered me down to 125mcg from 150mcg. So she said how do I feel and I told her that the palps have stopped and in a very short time of the med change. And I asked her if it was possible that my one remaining tiny thyroid gland may have been effected by the weight loss and perhaps woken up for a short time..And well she said it is possible but did I remember that the meds were weight classified. And they go by weight to dose..lol I just looked at her and laughed. I didn't realize that I had lost enough weight for this to actually be effecting those other meds..lol geeze.. So I go back in another month or so and get more tests of course. AT least that is taken care of and not in the back of my mind. She also discussed my path reports with me and said that she will still be there till the end of the month and will sit in on the cancer board meeting next week. She is leaving, sigh she hugged me and we were both almost in tears. I really like her I am going to miss her. And she is leaving the area so I cant even follow her if where she was going would take my ins. sigh.. She said she may move back to the area. So maybe we will see. I just hope that her replacement is half as good as her..lol that made her blush when I said that..lol. So anyway in the end I got one thing resolved for now anyway. And on to the next big one next week. And you should see the big red mark on my head from my hubby giving me the V8 smack..lol j/t

Oh man- I have a whacked out thyroid, so I feel your pain. My doc wants to do surgery to remove most of it and I have refused for over a year. I keep hoping it will shape up so it won't have to ship out! I hope you get all your results and can get it regulated-

My wife had 70% of her thyroid cut out, and the darned thing grew back with a third lobe!! So they nuked it, and she was radioactive for awhile and couldn't be around small children. Now for the last 20 years it's just been trying to keep those ever-shifting levels good. Good luck next month!! da perfesser

Uh, well, ALL med doses are weight related, actually..... Glad to know you've got it figured out. Boy, I sure hope I am able to interact with my patients, as you are interacting with your dr, sound like you have a really wonderful dr. ((((((HUGS)))))
