| Newbie | Hi, I'm Janet....I'm new. Just signed up. I'm researching the site for some information. I am deciding if this is the right way to go with my weight...everyone is so encouraging, it's hard not to think "It's too good to be true"...I'm sorry your gym closed...I don't understand that feeling...YET. I hope to have that much ambition one day. Right now I just stare at my elliptical machine and kick myself for buying it. I am meeting with a Dr. tomorrow about the surgery. Any words of wisdom?? | WLS Mentor | aww! that sucks friend. Hope the new one is just as good as if not better than the one that just closed. I told you that the one i was getting weighed at closed? it was kinda of sad for me because i loved the scale read outs and this was the gym that was going to give me a three month free membership after the surgery. So now there are two fitness clubs in town. One just for women (curves, the one i had been going to was changes, also just for women) and a unisex one. Haven't decided which i will go to. If i go to the unisex one Roo and i could go and work out together, so we'll just have to wait and see after the surgery. Hi Janet. Glad you decided to join us. I know, it does seem too good to be true but it is true. I love the before and after pics, so inspiring. I know how you feel about the eliptical thing. I bought a recumbant bike, and even though i do use it, i don't use it as much or as often as i know i should.Hopefully that won't be an issue after the surgery.Who is your Dr. and where is your surgery going to be. I had to go to an information session before i met with my surgeon, and i wish i had taken a tape recorder with me. There was so much info to absorb and it was hard to write it all down. So if it's an info session with other people you may want to do that. Another thing i will suggest is to get a binder and keep copies of EVERYTHING. Good luck

| Super Moderator | Awww, Lisa, ((((HUGS)))) I hope the new owners will make your gym even better. Mine is closing for 2 weeks for renovation. They had some new cardio machines that we could sample for a couple of months, and boy, were they pretty tough, but seemed to be more effective than the regular aero bikes and things. I am looking forward to the reopening. Meanwhile, I'm pulling a little slack, it's too hot for walking outdoors, and I need a breather after the hectic past month. ![]()

| I wish I could get myself down to the indoor pool at a nearby arobic center. I am sure once I get there it will be good, it is just getting brave enough to get started. It it so hard after all of these years of hiding myself to finally get out of that shell and start opening up. I will, hope sooner than later. LOL Sorry to hear about your gym Lisa, hey it might be just as good if not better as before. You will know soon... School will be back in and so soon. Where did summer go????? ROBBIN ![]()
