Wink My Sleep Study Results

Wow! is all that I can say.

I knew on the night of the study that I had apnea and that it was "bad".

I finally heard from the doctor this week and he told me that I was averaging 76 apnea episodes an hour! Once they put me on the CPAP, it went down to 1.9

I never suspected that it was that bad!

I should be getting my cpap this week.

I also found out that I should be hearing from the surgeon's office this week so I can finally see a surgeon and get my date!

I am so excited to finally be moving forward. It felt like the first part was just a hurry up and wait game. They told me at the clinic that once I see the surgeon, I should be able to get a surgery date of 2-3 weeks later.

Keep your fingers crossed!
Ella

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I am glad to hear they are taking care of you for that and I am sure you will feel better with better nights sleep. I hope all goes well at the dr office too getting a date. I also hate the hurry up and wait game.. And hopefully after your weight loss you may not need the cpap and all will be well.

I had 89 an hour in my study. But here the last month or two, I haven't needed the CPAP, as it seems I grew out of sleep apnea as I grew smaller.

Something to look forward to!!

Wow, that's unbelieveable! I sometimes wonder if I ever had it because in the hospital I kept forgetting to breathe when I relaxed on my dilaudid PCA, but my doc only does the test if he thinks you need it. Prior to being in the hospital, I didn't think I needed it! It's good to know you get help with the CPAP and you are on your way to not needing it at all, like our Perfesser!

From what I understand about it, with the CPAP you are going to feel 100% better. You will actually wake up and feel rested.

Sleep apnea is scary, and what is more scary is that most people aren't aware how bad it can be, or even be completely unaware that they actually suffer from it.
Glad you'll have that taken care of.
Once you start losing weight though, as perfesser said, the time when you don't have it any more will come.
Good luck with your surgeon's appt and scheduling.

Im glad you got this taken care of. Like Doc says it can be so scary. You litteraly quit breathing while your sleeping. You will notice a increase in your engery also once you get to using it. My hubby has used his for about 5 years now and takes it with him eveywhere including camping. I call it his Girlfriend! LOL. I to had one but got rid of it after surgery because I no longer needed it.
