Default I have the blues . . .

I think I read an old post about getting emotional after surgery--I've been fighting the blues for the last couple days. It's so weird--on one hand, I'm happier than I have been in a very long time because my surgery went well and I'm healing fast. On the other hand, I feel like a teenager flooded with melancholy! One second I want to sob, and the next I'm almost giddy! And my long-time friend, food, isn't available to comfort me now!! Darn--this recovery time is forcing me to face my food issues head on.

Hubby left for a long-planned camping trip with his buddies today, and will be gone for a week. I'm normally very independent, and I truly am happy that he gets to hang out with his friends, but I miss him already! DS lives nears his college, although I think he's coming over this week. DD is 17 and spending most of the time between the pool, her summer job, the mall, and with her boyfriend. I'm pretty much on my own, recuperating. Miss my work friends (we've been chatting on the phone and emailing) and the business of my "usual" life.

Just venting . . . thanks for listening.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Oh yeah, I remember! In my older posts I said it felt like I had PMS for 4 months straight! It's all those hormones in our fat cell being released and reeking havoc! It did level off slightly. I used to cry at commercials or any time, and now it isn't so bad. I felt a teenager with raging hormones, acne and mood swings! I'm lucky I don't live with another adult because I wasn't much fun to be around! Although it would have been nice to have my husband here to help with those raging hormones - maybe I wouldn't have been so moody, lol!

Vent away ~ that's what we're here for! This is a huge step you've taken and you're very brave to let them leave you! Glad you are recuperating nicely ~ I say you're due for some TLC ~ maybe have a friend come over, have a cup of tea, watch a favorite movie, maybe get your hair or nails done, buy yourself some flowers? Congrats on your success so far ~ you'll be sharing wows with us before you know it!

Oh yes, I totally agree with Clancy. I had a few friends come over just to sit and that made all the difference when I was in my "alone time".

Today DD and I are going to a movie and maybe doing a little shopping (for her--my clothes are getting roomy but it's not time for anything smaller yet). Should be fun!

This is normal and will pass by> Thats what we are here for. Hormones changing with rapid weight loss has a bit to do with it too. Take care! Kathy
