I went with my hubby to the hospitol for an knee injection and he went and sat down in the waiting room and I went to the bathroom and when I came out of the bathroom the waiting room was so full of people. Ok I should first explain why we went to the hospitol instead of the clinic. Well this knee specialist see patients in the jamestown hospitol when he comes from Fargo. He makes 3 trips a month to Jamestwon from Fargo and two of them are in the hospitol and hubby had to see him in hte hospitol becasue of short notice when we called the doctor. Well anyway, when I came out of the bathroom the waiting room was so full of people and hubby was sitting with only one chair open for me and I like to sit in chairs where there are no people around me except for hubby or really skinny people, becasue I always took up so much room when sitting in those chairs. My shoulders would take up my chair plus part of the other persons chair, so I would always lean into my hubbys chair. When we had to sit close together, so that I would not take up the other persons chair space. Well, I felt like that yesterday while I was looking over at hubby and then to top it off the man that I had to sit beside was huge and I thought how in the world am I going to sit there with that heavy guy, becasue he needs room and so will I. Now remember I am still thinking of how I was before surgery not thinking that I am much smaller than before. I had no choice but to sit there and by my surprise I fit in perfect and I gave the heavy guy some of my chair space for his shoulders and wow did I ever feel small, what an eye opener for how far I have come sitting in those chairs. Before surgery I would have filled it out and then some, another words I would have had to squeese myself in those chairs before surgery and when we went to the hospitol before I usually sat on the chairs that where two people could sit in them becasue I hate squeesing into chairs. While leaning into hubby which he really liked because he said I looked so small sitting in the chair beside him. While we were waiting I was looking at the people and thinking what I would have thought before surgery, how I would give anything to be as thin as they are. Now I am thinner than those type of people and wow what a good feeling. Once we got on the pickup then hubby was telling me that he really noticed now how many overweight people there are and that when I was so heavy that he said that I was always the biggest one sitting in a waiting room. Now he said I was one of the smaller ones there in the waiting room yesterday and that made him feel so proud of me. Hubby even told me that I was bigger than that heavy guy that sat beside me. Wow, what a Wow that was. When we got home and I was standing on the other side of the pickup with the door open to help unload the groceries and hubby was on the other side of the pickup unloading groceries also, he looked at me and said " Dam do you ever look good." Then he mentioned he wants to take in some actvivites in town this year and which we never did before and then I asked him, why do you want to show me off, I was just kidding, and he said yes that he is so proud of me and wants to show me off how good I look. He told me that he felt so proud of me at the fair and loved having me beside him looking so good. Don't get me wrong hubby loved me before and was always proud of me, but wow is her ever proud of what I have accomplished and with going to other town actvivites is becasue we do not have cattle anymore and renting most of the land out gives us more free time to do things. I know in my heart that it had to be hard for him for me being so heavy around other people with him, he does not have to admitt it but I felt it. Now it is like he wants me everyplace with him, even when he goes to pick up parts for the farm. I want to wait in the pickup but no way he wants me with him. He loves being around me and I love being around him that I can do things with him now. This is just a few of my little wows, but it sure was a big wow to me.

I've loved my wife skinny when we married, and I've loved her fat after the thyroid went crazy (and depending on the whims of the thyroid, skinny again, and fat again ... it was brutal for a few years.) I'm really looking forward to having her lose weight after she has the surgery so that we can do things together again! She has been size limited for so long now in what she thinks she can do that it'll take some serious retraining, but I am so looking forward to working with her on this next year!! I understand where your hubby's coming from, and it sounds like love to me! Congrats on having a real man to go through life with!! CT
