Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass   |  Kind of sad on july 14th, the thru way diner closed. it was a local diner here in new rochelle, ny. i grew up there. spent MANY of my nights in my teens in a booth with friends, a pck of cigarettes and free coffee refills all night long. might not seem like a big deal to most of you, but this place was a HUGE part of my childhood; also where i ate my life away. I am sad that it is gone. it will be knocked down to make way for walgreen's. kind of makes me mad considering cvs is within walking distance. just thought i would share. i cried when i heard the news. i went in for my last plate of food. ironic how all i use to order wass bacon cheeseburger deluxes...and on its last day of business, all i could eat was some fruit salad. small-sh0701308diner07.jpgdiner.jpg

| Super Moderator  |  That's sad. It looks like a cool place, rather the 50s kind of diners. Was it as cool inside as it looks on the outside? I imagine you aren't the only one very sad to see it go, it wasn't just memories for a lot of people, it looks like the place that symbolizes the good 'ol America, if you know what I mean. ((((HUGS)))) Hope you'll find a new cool place.

Property values go up so high that a family who owns such property almost have no choice but to sell for a comfortable retirement, and the people who are buying such land are not restaurantuers.  I love diners, drive-ins and dives. (the places...not the TV show. lol) The food is almost always the best.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | i guess in a sense, i am sad because its the end of an era for me. i used to eat myself into a coma in that place. and now i cant. and its gone. that just means its really over. that old life is gone. i guess thats why it struck me how it did. its not as simple as just a place going out of business. that was a part of my life. it was a cool place. it was built in 55. i think every generation in the area ate there at some point. i will miss it.
