Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass  |  Strange Ok, so I need to know what this COULD have been...I hope the doc has an idea. So last night I had a small snack, 4 cheetohs, yes I know...horrible choice. Well about 10 mins after I ate them I took my sleeping pill and laid down. 10 minutes after that I felt really ill...like uh oh...dumping. I hate to puke so I try to talk my pouch out of it. Suddenly, out of the blue, I started to shake uncontrollably...to the point where I could not walk or roll over to my side. You know, like when you are sick and have a bad fever, but no fever at all...not feeling ill other than the pouch. I threw a shoe at the wall because I couldnt even talk and my 11 year old son came running in...I pointed to the bathroom door...and he helped me shuffle my way in there where I proceeded to puke up 2 cheetohs and dry heave for an hour afterwards. I dont even remember how I got back to my bed, I just remember being really exhausted and remember my teeth chattering and my body shaking and I lost control of my bodily functions. This morning I had what seemed like a hangover..just a headache and general blah-ness. My son said that he thought about calling an ambulance (husband is back on patrol on 3rd shift), but he didnt. Now the entire day yesterday I ate with no problems so I know that my blood sugar wasnt low. Anyone else have anything like this happen to them? Doc do you have an idea of what this may be? Could it be something with my vitamin levels being low? (I just had labs last month and they came back "excellent" as my surgeons nurse put it, no deficiencies anywhere) Also, no problems today with eating..ate the regular stuff I eat all the time. I can tell you that cheetohs are no longer a choice.

| Super Moderator  | It most likely was dumping coupled with the effect of the sleeping pill. Dumping causes a systemic reaction in which your nervous system is involved. Sleeping pills also affect your nervous system, so you may have ended up with synergistic effect (the effect of two medications or reactions coming on stronger because of each other). Next time, if you feel anything that remotely seems like dumping, don't take sleeping pills, or any other kind of meds that affect your nervous system. Also, call your surgeon or PCP and tell them of this episode, and ask if they want to check you out, just in case. It is best to see if they can find something if there is something to be concerned about. ((((HUGS)))) Glad that you feel better now.

LOL I took my sleeping pill last night and didnt eat anything..no problems. Cheetohs = bad bad bad Thanks for the compliments on the after pic....Im working on that goal...
