Unhappy Hey All

Hi All,

Sorry Ive been away for a really long time. I just wanted to let every one know that Im still around. I really messed things up with my pouch and just spent the last 6 days having it fixed in the hospital. I had a perferated Ulser that showed its ugly face on Sunday July 13th. Its been corrected but as of now and until further notice im on the bleneded diet again. Also this corrective surgery is alot more painful then the first, take my advice and dont do what I did.

So what did I do you ask? Some can guess im sure but ill just spill it....
First of all I started smoking again, a huge no no and regret it. I have also been suffering from major back pain, and tylenol just didnt do the trick. my pcp refused to prescribe anything stronger so i had to taking things into my own hands, I tried some nsaids..... ( I know another huge no no) I knew they were bad for me but I said i coud defy the odds, (nope) and take them just to get through it all.

So Sunday morning i was rushed into emergency surgery. I survived and got spoken to by my doc, I really messed up. just please take my advice, if tylenol dont work, and you call the doc, find a new doc that will give you someting else, dont thing about taking anything else. I had to promise my surgeon that this would never happen again. and my family doesnt trust me, if i have pain for something it must be written on the bottle by the pharmacy NOT an NSAID or must be prescribed by my surgeon.

I will be out of work for 4-8 weeks now...... something that I need to recover since I have a feeding tube im my large stomach for emergencys only for the next month. This was not fun......

Talk to you all soon, I will be trying to check back in daily for the next few months at least.

Jess

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

((((((HUGS)))))
Sorry to hear of your unfortunate episode, I'm glad you were able to come through.
I sure hope your recovery will go quicker than expected.

Some advice for you.
1) It's turining up in recent research that weight loss surgery (rapid weight loss) seems to affect bone metabolism which possibly can weaken your bones at least temporarily, so, with any kind of joint pain, back pain etc. don't beat around the bush, but get a referral for an orthopedic surgeon and/or neurologist to get the exact diagnosis and decide on the course of treatment.
2) If the recommended pain meds for post ops doesn't seem to do the job, don't hedge around, but get referred to a pain management dr, they have a few tricks up their sleeves that can help you and still be safe for your pouch.

I'm sorry that you went though this, but I'm glad you're on the road to recovery. I wish you hadn't had to learn this the hard way, but it's good for all of us to pay attention. Sometimes we may think ..'oh, how bad can this be...'. Well, pretty bad, right?
