 |  it finally happened....
I got sick. I was one of the lucky ones who didn't get sick, but eventually everyone's luck runs out. I had deli roast beef at lunch today (1 piece) and I thought I chewed it good enough, but obviously not. I was so sick for like an hour and a half. Of course I was at work, which made this harder. Thankfully I had a fexible position today and spent a lot of time walking and walking and walking (which worked the couple times this happened before and I'd be fine after a few minutes). Finally I  and felt better, only for the pain and discomfort to return a few minutes later. Eventually I again and then felt better from then on. I was able to finally drink and just had an egg with cheese for dinner. Pouchy still a bit sore, but mending. Boy it'll be a long time before I have roast beef again, I saw enough of it today! And back to paying better attention to the chewing. Sometimes I feel so good that I forget I still have to be careful HOW I eat, but usually I'm reminded before it gets this bad. I just hope I didn't do any damage.

Kelly I too was one of the lucky ones. I didnt get sick for the first time till I was 13 months out or maybe it was even 14 months out. My bad vudu food was pork chops my husband cooked on the grill. I think they must have been too dry or something. God what an experience it was. Man I felt awful and what you described was how I felt. I couldnt believe that some people get sick all the time. And then I got sick not even like 4 or 5 weeks later again but this time on meatballs. They were a bit dry but I think like you said I didnt pay attention and I might not hav chewed enough or something. But knock on wood I have only gotten sick twice on this whole journey and I am 16 months out.

It is an awful feeling. I just hope it NEVER happens again! I'm human so I know it will, but I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy!

I definitely feel better today, thanks everyone. And yes Kim, being at work was torture. I got real lucky I had the job I did yesterday or I would have not been able to stay.
