I think i have totally become addicted to the scale!! I weigh every morning first thing when i get up and probably weigh about 2 times during the day and before i go to bed, whats the deal?? like it is going to change that much?? i watch it go up throughout the day as i drink more and more then back down in the morning...is this the stupidest thing you have ever heard????

Step away from the scale...slowly back away  I just bought a new scale and found that I was doing the same thing so back it went to the store because it was becoming too stressful.

The only time during the day that it makes sense to weigh is just after you get up and come out of the bathroom. At that point, you have a standard set of conditions that will help give you some comparison and consistency between daily readings.
If you weigh after breakfast, for instance, how much did you just eat? Was it the same amount as yesterday? How much have you sweated away or lost through other bodily processes? Your weight can vary by pounds as a normal part of going through the day, taking material in and letting material go at various times.
If you want to know how you're doing from one day to the next, weigh every morning. If you want to confuse yourself with a bunch of stressful readings that don't mean anything useful, weigh frequently throughout the day and it'll drive you crazy!
I weigh every morning just to see how I'm doing. I don't drive behavior with the scales, but if I see a trend emerging, I can do something about it. I'm a data-driven person anyway, but I don't obsess over it. But on vacation I went two weeks without weighing, and the world kept on spinning without me.
The scale is a useful tool when used properly. When abused, it can be your worst nightmare!! Use it wisely!!

I still weigh every morning, but now that I'm at goal...I'm watching carefully to see that I maintain....
I never weigh throughout the day or in the evening...I use my morning weight as my benchmark...
Now sugar free popsicles...THAT IS MY ADDICTION...I just had 4!!!

Me too - every morning, after I pee and naked. I don't bother at other times, though because it's not as accurate to me. Hopefully you can at least cut back to the once a day in the AM or less! Good luck!

My first year out i was totally addicted to the scale, made the battery die and my husband refused to let me bring another into the house lol....good thing i have one at work ,,,,,i check once in a while now but i used to check 3 4 5 times a day at first ...totally normal....
