This had happened many times over the years, but I have never seen it this bad! They had the city appraiser out and about today looking things over, especially this house! We have found quite a few shingles in the back and front yard, soooooo guess who will be getting the roof redone...its time anyways! |

There are still quite a few people here without power. My aunt has been out since Thursday and they now have a huge tarp over there roof because of some damage to it from the trees. Which is really strange because they are all out in the country and I am within minutes from the beaches. We rode around our neighborhood today and there were branches EVERYWHERE, but nothing really bad. A few wooden fence panels blown down, but that is about it. My neice asked me to walk her down to the end of my brothers road so that she could see the "lake" that was the road! She wanted to go swimming! HAHAHA There were people out there in canos and air boats. I can not believe that we grew up in those creeks swimming in that NASTY brown water, but didnt think anything was wrong with it, now just the thought of it makes me cringe! LOLOLOL |

wow. THAT is a Hollywood rain, boy! Of course, we have earthquakes, but the thought of having a FLOOD in my house scares the bajezzus out of me! I am petrified when it "El Ninos" here and there is rain harder than storm drains can handle, and I can't see the curb to my street anymore! yikes! Perfect example of denial...we don't have flood insurance. Fire/Earthquake, but no flood. LOL

Yeah, we actually called in a claim today on our homeowners insurance, the roof was actually worse than it appeared once my husband got up there! They tried to tell us that there was a $2600 ded for "Hurricane Damage", but I gently pointed out to them that if they had watched any part of the news last week that they would KNOW that is was NOT a hurricane! So now we just have to wait for them to come out next week and determine the damage and force them to take the $500 ded that is NOT Hurricane related! I really hate dealing with these people. My mom lost a pretty good bit of siding from her place, but my brother and husband are going to take care of that some time this week (hopefully).
