Default Dumping and Me

OMG Ok, so I am maybe complaining a little but I am still happy I had this surgery.
My version of dumping is different then mosts, I am a lot like Kenya as to where I tend to pass out...I eat something that doesn't agree with me and immediately I feel like crap and have to lay down. Where I am almost immediately asleep, I sleep like a rock for 2 hours then I am good, the only thing is I am grumpy and feel like crap the rest of the night or day depending.
I am resentful sometimes, sometimes I jut want to eat like I use to. I know this will never happen again but damn I mi my "friend" sometimes

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

When my daughter eats to many carbs she gets very sleepy like you said passing out, that is what my daughter says that happens to her.All she wants to do is sleep, well it is not like that with me, I end up in the bathroom for a few hours till it is all out of me. Not throwing up but diahareha, sorry for getting so grahic. I sometimes barely make it to the bathroom, so when I am gone from home I am very careful what I eat. Sometimes I get a very groughy and sickly pouch with the diareaha. That is when it feels like I get the double dose of eating the wrong stuff. Mine usually comes from when I crave sweets.

I understand exactly what you mean about being happy, but bummed at the same time about the surgery. At least there are many more good days than bad days, right?

Hang in there. Next time you try on a cute outfit you will be so happy about the surgery!

That's the main reason I chose RNY over the lapband. I wanted the dumping syndrome to keep me in line. Becca, I'm with you - I too "pass out" if I eat too many carbs.

A month ago I asked DH to stop at the Dairy Queen because I wanted ice cream. I had half of a butterscotch sundae and immediately fell asleep in the car on the ride home for 1 hour, then I got in the bathtub when we got home (we'd been rafting on the Shennandoah river) and fell back asleep for an hour. Got out and went and sat in the recliner in the living room and crashed for another hour, finally gave up and went to bed and slept through the night.

When I eat too much fat I get a headache (isn't that weird?) and the pouch starts grumbling and roiling and I just feel bad for about an hour, two at the most.

Yes, I miss some of those bad foods too, which is why I've tried them and why I know what symptoms I'm going to have if i eat them. LOL

You guys all hang in there.....Those intense feelings will pass over time. The sleepy feeling and the sick feeling still comes at times, but not as often. Sometimes I wish that they would come more often cause then you know your pouch is still working. After a few yrs out things feel normal again. You can eat better (more) the compliments stop coming and you dont always feel that people notice (they are getting use to the way we look)

At the beginning you greive about not being able to eat the food you once did. Then you greive the feelings that you use to have at the beginning, the compliments you once got on a daily basis.....lol.......I for one dont think I will ever get over the wonderful feeling of being thinnner and on the same note I dont ever think I will be able to see myself as thin as I really am. Always have that "fat" image in my head.

Does any of this make sense to anyone else, or am I just
"OUT THERE!!"

Mary Ann....I don't think you are OUT THERE at all....what you say makes perfect sense.....this ride is full of bumps...and there are several of us trying to figure out WHAT NEXT??? It's like the build up, the rapid weight loss....the inability to see ourselves in our new skin....it's very emotional and mental...nearly more so than physical.....

Now I'm fighting the self image of all the excess skin...and not feeling good about how I look....but with no job, I'm helpless to do anything about it right now...good things come to those who wait, huh?

Good things do come to those who wait. The self image is something that I think we will always struggle with. I dont see myself as looking as good as people say I do. But I feel better than people can even know.................. I had the tummy tuck done.........you would think that I would be happy right? Well to a point I am........but the scares....well ......lets just say they arent so hot either....

I am learning to like ME!!! Its a long process tho......so just keep up the good work and like you said....be patient.......

I get nauseous for about an hour and then it passes. I come to think of it I guess I do get sleepy to. Last night DH brought home drumstick ice cream. They were small ones so I indulged. I got a little sick but I ended up going to bed at 8:00 pm because I was tired. In hindsight I bet I was dumping.

So today is a new day and I am bound and determined to stick to it.

Becka you have done so well, you really look like the little avatar you used to post! How long till Will gets home?
