Default Update

Hi I dont know how many of you remember me. I am Sarah, had a previous stomach stapling surgery 11 yrs ago now and it made me horribly sick and took many years to find a surgeon to help me. I has gastric bypass on 2-13-08 and have been loosing very slowly since then. I was actually down to 164 and now have bounced back up to 174. Feel quite terrified about that btw but I am retaining a little fluid but believe me it is not 10 lbs worth. I have been eating badly. Still have lost another size and am in 8/10 clothes. I really need to get my eating back on track but because of the previous surgery I have never really had the experience yall have. I can eat what I want and not get sick. I dont have the sesation of fullness and have never had that since the swelling went down in my pouch. Bread, pasta, rice ectra bothered me with the first surgery but not this one. If anyone has any suggestions to help me get back on track I would love to hear from you!

Btw a special thank you to my angel Demarie-she always checks on me periodically and I can't tell you how much that means to me!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Sarah, because of your previous surgery, the going will be slow--but steady. Stick to the protein first, water water water. If you don't get the hungry feeling, measure what you eat. Chew well. It's all about the basics.
(((((HUGS))))) May your journey go well.

Hi Sarah!! My suggestion is to keep a food diary, plan the first week in advance and stick to it each day, the scale WILL move again! Post your day on here in the "what are you eating today" thread. Also, carbs are the devil!!!! they make us crave crazy things. And graze. Get out and take a walk in the morning or evening, it clears your head and releases endorphins, happy brain stuff!!!

Thanks everyone! I am going to do the pouch reset thing. I think that will help me get back in the mind set to get back on track. Atleast the scale was down 2 lbs this morning. So maybe things are going again. I need to get back on the board's and post for encouragement and advice. I am in a size 10 now and only one more size to go when I got to my lowest with previous surgery but this time I am aiming for a scale number instead of a size. I want to be between 135 and 140 I think. Will re-evaluate when I get there. I have bones poking out that I dont remember ever seeing. Like my tail bone! It kind of hurts with no padding on it. Anyway thanks again!

Sarah..you are too early out to do the pouch reset...you need to be at least a year out from surgery...just go back to basics like everyone said..protein first then veggies and carbs if there is room...LOTS OF WATER!!!

DocSanae-you said something about measuring? how much should I be eating? 1 cup a time? and how often should I eat 3 meals or 5 smaller? I assume if I eat 5 smaller than they should be half of what I eat if I eat 3 meals a day? I know I should ask my dietician but they only think I should eat twice a day and atleast six hours apart. I get way tooooo hungry for that. Thanks again!
