 |  I did have a stricture!
Last week I hada posted a thread indicating that I was throwing up everything. I ended up in the Hospital on Tuesday and it turned out I had a stricture at the bottom of my pouch where the small intestine is connected. The doctor said that the opening was about the size of the head of a pencil! Apparently this is does not happen to most GP surgery patients, but the good thing was that I am 9 weeks out so they did not have any problem stretching my pouch. The bad thing is that I have to go back at least one to two more times and have the endoscopy procedure done again! Came home on Thursday and I am doing fine now, but I'm back on the liquid diet for the next 3 weeks (bummer). So, anyone out there who is having problems keeping food down, don't hesitate.....call your surgeon right away! Keep me in your prayers please.

I, too, had the exact same thing as you. Vomiting up food right after I ate it, and I was only on pureed! I had my stricture (a narrowing where your pouch and small intestine are connected) dilated on August 5th, and have had no problems since. Why not suggest to your doctor that you'll agree to having another endoscopy and dilation only if you experience problems again, instead of routinely scheduling you for it. Some people do had strictures reoccur, but why not wait till you're symptomatic? I'm so gald you were able to get to the root of your problem and that you're on the road to successful eating again. It's a bummer being back on liquids, but I did it, too and the time goes by pretty fast.
