Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Russ is meeting with an Army recruiter today...the Army has extended the age for people to apply for the medical scholarships....so, we finished his resume...and he's having lunch with him right now. We'll find out if he can get to the scholarship....hopefully we will....it will be a FULL RIDE to Optometry School...a monthly stipend...and all the military benefits. Payback will be serving in the Army for 4 years as an Optometrist after graduation....seems like an incredible tradeoff....not to mention...who knows "Where" we'll be stationed after school...maybe Hawaii...or overseas somewhere.... Hey Hanadi...maybe Kuwait?? (although, we'd HATE that heat!!) I'll let you know....

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Hey Deborah sweet sister, I'm very thrilled for you and Russ this must be very exciting stage in both of your lifes. I know exactly the feeling of getting back to school I'm living it these days I can' tell you but hmmm I feel like I'm a kid who's anxiously worried about her first day at new school (lost, worried, excited, butterfly in the stomach feeling, very thrilled that I'm having headaches now for 4 weeks hehehehehe) I hope everything will go to you and your DH wishes, yes I'd love if you guys get stationed in Kuwait but please not in Iraq! it's getting crazier and crazier in our region. As much I'd love to see you and meet you and keen to live an adventurous life, but Deborah honey what I learned and will learn in Leeds that nothing is like home country and to be surrounded by your beloved family! My best wishes Love Hanadi

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Could go either way.... If they approve the age waver the chances are that 99% he'll be accepted...and mostlikely we will take it. Then he will be commissioned into the Army...and he will goto school...and the Army will pay for it. It is a wonderful opportunity for more reasons that the scholarship...Russ never got the opportunity when he was young - nor was he "the type" to join the army. This is a wonderful opportunity to get to serve his country...and the other officers in the Army. He has gotten the "run down" and is very pumped... Now we just wait to see if the "Age Waver" is approved. We are praying...and hopin. Oh...Hanadi...you and Russ are sooo much alike. He's had a nervous stomach this last week...and it still hasn't let up that much...he is sooo excited and nervous - it cracks me up! When do you all leave for Leeds?? I know it's coming up in about a week or so, right?? Let us know...ok? Miss you sweetie....Lots of love to you.

Height: | OMG...Deb...that would be so awesome. I have days when I kinda wish that Terrence had gone green instead of blue, but maybe later we will have to cross over. The downside to green is the longer deployments, but I will be your sistah in the military game if he gets the waiver. I am really surprised that he is trying to join. I had no idea that you were even considering military life. Maybe you would even be stationed at Ft. Dix and we could be neighbors...how freaking cool would that be? Admit it....it was the concert pics that made you decide to join...huh? lol..... I can't wait to hear what you find out about the age thing. I know firsthand how stressful it is to wait on something like that. We almost had to apply for one with Terrence, but he snuck in just under the limit just in the nic of time. I will cross my fingers for you both. Best of luck and give that adorable hubby of yours a big hug for me. Janae |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Janae....we actually have always been considering it....but thought Russ was too old. Then when they extended it...wow, we were sooo excited. We are very very patriotic...and believe that our life is to serve God & country. It would be funny if Russ was stationed at Dix...but, we are hoping to maybe get an 'overseas commission.' We don't have any expectation...but if he gets the waiver...we'll be doing the research to see where our "top 3" will be. (We found out that once he gets out...he'll have to give his choices of where he'll like to go....and then...we'll see. A bit like selecting a Optometry School. Becca...I too was a "Military Brat"...although my dad was in the Air Force. Now, I've talked to all my parents...both my dad and step-dad were in the military...(one blue - one green) and both do not regret serving their country. Both joined when they were going to school...so were commissioned as students...and then got their degrees...and then served upon graduation. My step dad was actually a Army Optometrist. My Dad was in the Air Force for 20+ yrs. Thanks to everyone... for your prayers and well wishes....this has been such an adventure...and proves that it will continue to be. We are praying that this will go thru....and Russ will be eligible for commission in January! fingers crossed....
