Angry Shoe Frustration

OK I just have to vent......I get excited going shopping now since I can shop in the regular section. But, shoe shopping is still SO frustrating I could cry. I have big feet.....make that HUGE feet. (nickname in jr. high was skis!) So I have the option to shop places with larger sizes and pay a boatload of $$, go to Payless (which is what I have done for years), or shop online. Well, I am SICK of Payless! I went to the best shoe store the other day and of course.....they only went to a size 10. I sit there and fantasize about the cute shoes, and then my bubble is burst- no matter how much weight I lose my feet aren't going to get any smaller! I know this in my head, but I think I forget and try to shop like a regular shoe person. GRRRRRRR I just can't get away from shopping in "special" sections! I am too cheap to spend a lot on my shoes, but I just want to walk in a normal store and pick some out, is that too much to ask!? Apparently it is!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

My feet went down two sizes, but if yours are already thin I guess that won't happen. Last time I went to Payless they had some cute shoes. Have you tried K-Mart? They sell Thom McAnn shoes and they are usually pretty stylish. I remember when I was a kid you used to have to go to a shoe store to get Thom McAnn.

I feel ya, girlfriend! I too wear boats on my feet. "Cute" shoes will never be in my cards....they weren't in my cards when I was at "normal" weight.

Now that I am, ahem, more mature, I don't need the heels any longer, but it would be nice to have the option.

Go ahead and vent...you are not alone.

I feel your pain sister. I too wish I could wear cute shoes from a normal store but alas I have to wear boats. Ugly, ugly, boats! Maybe one day.

I hear you...my feet did go down about a 1/2 size, but they are far from small. I hope you find something online that is cheap and in your size.

Judijo- I am the same way, my feet were a size 10 in 5th grade, so there is no hope they are going to get smaller. It isn't that I can't find any shoes, but I sure would love to walk in a store and buy shoes off the rack. OH WELL! I should be happy I can walk in a store and buy clothes off the rack now, right?

I had to get rid of 1/2 of my shoes (expensive ones, I might add) as none of the sandals from last summer fit anymore...my feet just slide right through them....I've lost 1/2 size to a whole size in most of my shoes....I'm down to a 7 in some brands...

Have you tried any of the online specialty shops.....zappos.com or 6pm.com or gothamcityonline.com? I buy lots of stuff from there.....

Yes I can find shoes online- it's just one of those things I just want to walk in any old store and buy them off the rack. It's like when you have to shop online for clothing or only go to Lane Bryant and it's just so much more fun to walk in a store and buy what you want. (or even get to look at a clearance rack, woo hoo!) I guess I just have to come to terms with the fact I will always have "Plus Size" feet! LOL

Mine have gone down from a 9.5 or 10 to an 8.5. I bought a cute pair of flats and 2 pairs of heels in an 8.5. I nearly died when 9's were too big. You may be suprised and see them shrink some but if you haven't seen that happen yet it might not be enough to make a difference. My friend wears a 10 or 11 and she goes into Nordstroms or Macys (not sure what you have out there)...she tries on a 10 and they are snug and then tells them to ship her an 11 to her house. They usually do it free of charge too. Not All styles come in 11 but I must say she has about 200 pairs of very cute shoes!!! I hate that my feet are too small to borrow from her!
