Way to go Kitty. Awesome job. And Doc has said that any of these types of things that people should wait at least a whole year to do something like this. I did one recently and I am just about 18 months out. I had the carb monster hanging around with me way to much. I needed to give him the boot. |

Kitty, congratulations again, but I wanted to ask you a question. I was just reading your posts in "what did i eat today" forums, and I noticed you were eating different stuff other than just protein. Did you differ from the original 5 day pouch test?

Oh how cool!! I just decided yesterday morning to do the pouch test. I made it through the first day and today is my second, it wasnt so bad yesterday so i have a positive attitude about today! Only cried once so far, making my son his lunch for today, the bread smelled out of this world!! I resisted though!! Cant wait to see how much i lose after day 5!

Christy, I pretty much followed the test but I ate alot of my homemade veg. soup. That is about the only different thing I did. I needed something more of a filler and I thought the veg. soup with lots of veg. in it would help and it sure did. Plus hardly no carbs in my soup. I made the soup from my garden veg., beets, beet stems, carrots, wax beans, onions and cabbage. I used chicken soup base for flavor. Then when I would have my cup of soup in my bowl I would add about 2 Tablespoons of no carb cream and about a tablespoon of ketchup. That was so yummy. Then I made sure I got the protein in my snack time and other meals. The veg. soup is about the only thing I did different. My daughter does it with a cup of cooked veg., but not soup. It works great for her so I followed her plan pretty much plus incorporated the pouch test and it worked for me. I was not so hungry and took my attention away from food and could concentrate on protein after my soup. Now after my pouch test I even do not crave carbs. I crave meat the most. I still have a litle of the soup left and I had some for breakfast this morning and a porkchop for dinner. Forgot snack time, I was so busy canning cauliflower and carrots together. It is the first time I have done it and I am so excited when I can eat them later on. I have a little left over in a bowl and it tastes soooo good. I was just telling my hubby that it is going to be so nice to go to my basement and choose a delicious veg. I have such a variety sitting in my cellar. My hubby told me that he swears that I have been canning for a month just about every day. I love to can good food and can enjoy them this winter. The cauliflower and carrots look so pretty in the jars. But I have to say that I guess I adaped the pouch test to fit me and it worked. So I guess I have to say the pouch test was not so bad after all.
