Exclamation Splenda, bad?

You know I have said since before surgery if they find out Splenda is bad, I am in a lot of trouble! It seems there is some new research from Duke University that Splenda may have some negative health issues. Now I know, this is one study, but check this out for the details and at least be informed!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

But they didn't say it causes cancer like they have the others. I used to use equal like crazy, but since Splenda no more. You know what they say, everything in moderation.

yes very true. and once i watched the video i am not as concerned. the thing about it causing cravings and people to gain weight because of them is true. the orignal statement is a bit misleading. i'm sticking with it!!!!!

Well, artificial whatever is artificial whatever. Everything has its merit and demerit.

I also do everything with splenda, my husband and I have been using splenda for so many years and I also do my canning with splenda too. The only thing I use real sugar is for my pickled watermelon or when I have alot of company and have to make something from scratch which is not very often. Most of the time I usually just make a box cake for people. I always make something that I can eat too and not have to watch them eat it. Then most of the time they like to try my deserts too. I would be lost without my splenda. But I will keep my eyes and ears open and do research once I hear quite alot of negative things about splenda.

Yeah- I am big on everything in moderation now! But with the way it may affect medications (like chemo) it would be important to be informed, especially if you take vital meds. As for me- I will still be glugging my drinks with artificial sweetner- even the "cancer causing" ones. The alternative is death from dehydration! LOL

I have also read the info on sweeteners not fulfilling your sugar craving and can actually make you more hungry. I do drink some splenda and Nutrasweet well if you want something that isnt just water you are kinda stuck but when I make my own stuff I use stevia when ever I can I carry packets with me and get unsweetened stuff when I can. I guess I have just been drinking so much water for the past few years that I dont miss soda and stuff since surgery. Thank God for small favors

I chose splenda after trying them all pre-op. I wonder if the studies they do included people like us that have less absobtion abillities and less intestine length? We may have less issues, or hopfully not more issues with things.....Tks. for the info. we all need to keep each other up to date. Kathy
