| Seeing the Light at the End of the Tunnel
When I explain to people why I made the decision for WLS, I say that I came to a point where I could no longer see a light at the end of the weight loss tunnel, oncoming train or otherwise. I had become trapped in the cave with no exit at all, and that is when I grabbed on to the final safety line of WLS.
I am now under 50 pounds of my first, and really only, goal of 170 lbs.
I can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel.
My weight loss has slowed, as expected, and frankly I am scared to the hilt, because the old tapes in my head are playing about how I cannot succeed in my weight loss efforts, etc...that there is some sort of inherent glitch in my get-along preventing me from a release of that particular hang-up in my life.

It'll come slowly but surely! You've done a great job! Obviously some lose faster than others, but we all look great and are so much healthier. And even though you've slowed (like me), I always look at Kitty because she always manages to keep losing although it's slower than some. It is wonderful to finally see that light and feel that it's actually attainable!

It is difficult to get over that glitch, it does take a while.
You will get to goal, too, just trust yourself, and stick to the program no matter what.

Judi we all have that problem...I never thought I'd hit my goal, at 160 I convinced myself I'd be happy at that weight even though it wasnt my goal, but in reality I so wanted to succeed. You have done great and will make your goal. We are your cheerleaders

Judijo, you are at a point where you are feeling like you will never see your best friend again. Carbs and bad food choices. They are comforting and as the new you emerges you are getting scared and want your comfort zone.
This is a hard place to be, but don't let it get the better of you. You cannot let that (insert bad food choice here) rule your life. You are in charge of your destiny not that food.
Now might be the time to reflect on your life and find out what is not right. Can you change that? Can you work to change it? Can you decide that it's really not important and get on with it. Alot of us have things burried deep inside, even from childhood that tell us we need our protection. We need to tell that little voice that the circumstances are not the same and we are safe.
And if I am way off base here I am sorry. I just know it took me forever to face my demons. I knew they were always there, I just needed the strength to kick them to the curb and keep moving.
