Hello everyone....I am begining to feel a little worried these days. My appetiete seems to be increasing and I am able to eat more these days then in the past. I am maintaining my weight and that is mostly due to haveing more good days then bad, and making right choices most of the time. I am looking to you guys to see what your coping mechanisms are....I use my ipod often and when feeling stressed put my music on and try to relax instead of eat. I also try to keep good foods handy so if i do get the munchies or i really feel hungry i choose to overeat on the better foods. What do you do when you feel like eating and its not really a good time to eat, or what do you do when you feel extra hungry but know you shouldnt be eating AGAIN lol.... I even get to the point that i feel full but cant stop and end up ....any and all suggestions are welcome....Love you guys....

I know I'm not out as far as you but I have been having a hard time not thinking about eating. Last night I journaled, first in my head and then on paper. It really helped. I'm sure you have been through all this before backwards and forwards. Hope I don't sound too redundit. Sometimes I wonder if the change from summer to hibernation mode contributes to the mood too. I know that you love summer and that it's hard to say good bye to it. I feel the same way. I'm invited to a big fancy Christmas party and trying to keep my eye on that and the thought of getting into something festivly elegant. It might be from Good Will but I don't care. LOL. I hope you feel better. You have done a wonderful job with yourself!!! Kat

Thanks Kat, sometimes we just need to be reminded of the basics I guess...its so easy to fall off track espically as we realize we can eat more and more different foods...I think i am just paranoid ,,,i never want to see that BEFORE of me again. I am just loving this new life to much. But you know the kind of person that thinks things are going so good that they are bound to get bad eventually, thats me! I am always worried when something works out for me that it wont last,,, so i am starting to panic with my year anniverary approaching on Halloween.... Thanks again... |

Awww, LisaMarie, Lisa, Kat, ((((((((BIIIIIG))))))) ((((((((HUGS))))))))) all around!! Bascially, when we (and I mean we, everyone, pre-ops, post-ops, non-ops, skinny, normal, overboard, tall, short, average, blond, brown, black, blue, green, whatever, any and everyone) when we think that we shouldn't be thinking of something, of course we're going to think about it more, and end up obessing!! So the first thing to do, is to ADMIT to yourself, that the hunger you are feeling is quite normal. As in, people with normal stomachs and normal stature would also feel. That's because your pouch has finally settled, and become an integral part of you. This past year while you were losing, you have been learning, and putting into practice healthy eating, and healthy portions. You have already made good habits, and are on your way to making it stick. I'd say you are in the test phase of making it stick, so you'll have to stick it out a little bit more until you can be surer of yourself, but rest assured, in time, your new eating habits will be as natural to you as ever been, and the same as taking an easy breath. The most difficult part probably is going to be, how to deal with stress when before, you had turned to eating when stressed out. You'll have to develop a method that works for you, and that will be different for everyone. Some may find working in the gardens soothing, some may find working on some craft or another good, some reading, some music--maybe you could learn to play the instrument you've always wanted to before-- or sewing, painting, housework, but one good way is journalizing. Writing down your feelings, your ups and downs, your good and bad, your happy and sad. Baby steps and one day at a time will pile up into huge leaps and bounds, and years and years.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | WOW Doc!! Thanks soooo much...this is said sooo well. A great reminder that I need to cherish these early months....I think I did much better b/4 we moved...but in this last month...being in this house...surrounded by boxes....and adjusting to "city life" has been a bit difficult and different. I'm beginning to think that is why I'm on my STALL...I'm not doing anything like I should....other than I'm not over eating...(much! - there is that tomato or two here and there...LOL) Anyway...Thanks for the reminder...I think I'm going to cut and paste your post in a document so I'll have it as a great reminder. LisaMarie...thanks for posting this...It's good to know what will be coming around the corner....I hear Lisa talking about it...but, hearing it more and more from everyone...like you, Lisa, Shelley, Becky, Debs....it really helps to get prepared and utilize this Honeymoon time. thanks again!!

Thanks Lisa and Lisa Marie for letting us see your downs as much as your success. It helps to know that we aren't alone and crazy when we go through it. I have had my share of panic days lately when I actually feel hungry past what I feel I should be able to eat. I also panic when I know I am going to be eating in front of someone that knows I had the surgery and have heard how little we are supposed to be able to eat...I mean panic sets in as to what if I want more than they think I should be able to eat? Even if that is smaller than a normal person still...are they going to look at me like I am a pig?...Does this make sense to you? Janae |
