Question Curves anyone???

So I really need to get my rearend in gear finging some kind of routine since it's getting too cold outside now. I have a meeting at curves tonight and am really excited about. Are there any others out there that have tried this? I have no problem getting my cardio in at home, it is the toning that I need.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I know there are several here who have tried curves....some like it...others (as I seem to recall) think it's too low impact for what they were trying to achieve....don't quote me...I'm responding from memory on the topic (and lately, I have sometimers....sometimes, I remember...sometimes, I don't LOL)

I'll definitely let you know. It's only 5 miles from my house which beats driving 25 to 40 miles to a gym. Sometimes living out in the sticks isn't so great. I've got workout videos at home, but I need more motivation then that. I've heard it's low impact, so I'll definitely have to see if it's worth it.

I went to curves a couple years ago. It's more cardio than anything. It's still a way to get some exercise in - but as for toning and muscle, not so much. You can only put so much into the machines they have and besides getting your heart rate up by working harder, that's about it. BUT...it was fun and social. Maybe just try a one month membership to see if it's what you are looking for.

My experience was the same as DeMarie. More cardio than anything else. Good social interaction if you wanted it. After a while I decided it wasn't want I needed and went back walking outside and using hand weights at home. Definitely do a trial month before you commit to a year.

We have a new place in my small town called Anytime Fitness. You can go there anytime you want to work out. I am going to check them out post surgery. I refuse to go to Curves, which we also have because the owner is anti choice and uses the money they make from Curves to fund organizations that work to take away women's health care and women's reproductive freedom. I don't want my money supporting woman hating businesses.

I was a member of Curves for about a year. Felt it did me no good. It may be what you are looking for, but it was no good for me. I am doing much better with walking and my workout videos at home.

I am with CatScratch. I don't participate in Curves more for political reasons.

That being said, before I knew they had agendas outside simply wanting a successful business, I found it to be an OK workout, and a great concept. But the $40/month got to me a bit, so I had to quit.
