 |  I poisoned my wife!!
Honest, I didn't mean to!
We went in to Mankato tonight for an evening out to celebrate our anniversary. Had a nice dinner (she had brisket, I had walleye, there's some of each in the fridge now) and then went to a play. The theater department at school is really good in everything they do, and tonight it was Harvey. Great comedy, and a really good cast!! Standing O at the end, and they earned it!!
I stopped at the C-store on the way out of town to pick up a bottle of water for the long trip home, and to celebrate and give her something special, I bought a small bag of milk chocolate M&Ms. Neither of us thought it through very well. She has always loved those little calorie pills, but it's been several months since she's been off refined sugars. Well, there was a tearing sound in the dark next to me, and she enjoyed them one by one. She first commented that they were too sweet. Then she said she wasn't feeling well. She finished the bag, and then told me she was getting a headache.
She'd been off sugar long enough to de-tox. None for months. Then a concentrated dose. She poisoned herself by eating those chocolates, letting them melt in her mouth one at a time (not in her hands!) Now she's in her recliner in the living room with the lights off wondering if she's gonna live.
There's a moral in here, folks. Being pre-op, she is not subject to dumping, or I'd need some serious interior detailing in the car. But she is subject to poisoning, and that is exactly what happened. If she were post-op, it could have been much worse!!
Poor kid! I doubt she'll ever eat M&Ms again!!

LOL "something blingy". Well, this goes to show that sometimes our mentality doesn't change. You got her something "special" in the way of sugary sweet...i'm trying to change the way I think that what I give myself as something "special" isn't candy or sweet desserts. KWIM??

Poor poor peanut! I am sure she is recovering now, albeit with a sugar hangover.
I remember going home from an old buddy's house pre-op. I stopped at a store for some water and picked up FOUR bags of dark choco M/Ms, with the "hey, dark is good for you" mentality. I ate them on my 2 hour drive home.
I slept REALLY well when I got home. lol
