| Going for my 6 month check up tomorrow... Well, tomorrow is the big day. I go for my 6 month check up. Wow where has the time gone? I thought this would be a great time to list some of my milestones that I have reached. But first I will post some goal that I posted on OH, before I had surgery. 1) Feel like I am not being judged when I go to the grocery store, Lane Bryant.
2) Go shopping in a regular store.
3) Be able to tie my shoes without taking a deep breath, holding it and then tying my shoes.
4) Being able to go through a day that I don't have wear a "pad" because every movement I make I am going on myself.
5) Being able to go on an amusement park ride. I stay away from the parks altogether now.
6) Being able to look in the mirror and feel happy and good about how I look and feel.
7) Stepping on a scale at the doctors office and it not having to go to the 200lb mark.
8) Setting a good example for my kids towards heathy eating.
9) Being able to enjoy sex.
10) Being able to walk down to the basement get the laundry and all the way upstairs and not being exhausted.
Wow, that makes me tear up just to re-read that. Haven't done that in awhile so I have accomplished...
~ Feel like I am not being judged when I go to the grocery store, Lane Bryant.

~ I have gone from a size 22, to a size 12 and I can even get into junior clothes!!!!
~ I have gone from weighing 239 the week before surgery to the last time I weighed myself I was 174! That was about a month ago!!!
That is most of my list. We didn't go to Six Flags this year...we haven't in yrs, so I can't add that one, and I still have a hard time looking at myself in the mirror.
I want to thank all of you for your support. I know that w/o it I wouldn't have been able to done this. |

Femme, most surgeons explain to their patients that the honeymoon period is from 18 to 24 months, not 6 months. I have yet to hear WLS patients saying that they were told by their surgeons that the honeymoon is only 6 months. You still have more than a year to go.
You generally lose half of what you are expected to lose in the first 6 months and then the losing gradually slows down to continue for another year or so till goal. This ENTIRE period of loosing is called the honeymoon, not just the first 6 months, and it looks like you are confusing the two. |

WOW you made all those milestones in only six months.
ISNT this the best!
I bet you cant even imagine whats in store for the next six months.
GOOD LUCK at your appointment
and i know all will turn out well.
SO great to hear!
YES DEB i also agree with doc...yes u loose the most weight in the first six months but you will loose hugely the next six...and the last six month there are losses but a slo creep. AS long as you work your tool with the
"RULES" you can loose for upto 18 months!
HUGS

Congratulations on your continued journey. Isn't it great? The other day I went to the county fair with my nephews and went on a ride. I haven't done that in decades. I am so happy for you. Enjoy.
