Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Vicki,
I can relate there, as a matter of fact, when I read your first post, I thought, oh, yeah that's me, but didn't have the time to reply.

I have hot flashes, headaches, sweating that's worse than before (I rarely used to sweat) but not as bad as some, dizziness as in vertigo.
I don't think I have sleep disturbance, I manage to sleep well enough when I do, but who knows, I keep all those crazy hours, so that may be it.
Fortunately, not much in mood swings so far....

Oh, yeah, some weight gain. The patients I see, my friends I talk to, all have some degree of weight gain, from 5-10 lb. My mother gained about 10 when she was going through this, but a few years later, she was back down to where she was before. Well, she played, and still plays-- even though she's in her 80s-- tennis 2-3 times a week. Talk about being active! With my patients, those who have not been careful about their diet and exercise, (many are diabetics to boot) I've seen the weight stay, or go on to gain some more.

For me, regular exercise seems to keep the symptoms at a manageable level, the weight gain at 5 at the moment. Well, I keep a fan in each of the several bags I regularly use, too, and the fans are a perrineal joke among my friends...need a fan? don't need it any more...do you have one, can I borrow...
So, if you see me drag a fan from my bag, yep, I'm having hot flashes right now.

Seriously, I had a friend who went through a very bad bout of depression, and had a hard time for a while.

Since you talked about seeing your doc, I hope you've had a good consult. If you haven't seen a gyne doc in some time, you might consider asking your PCP to set up an appointment for you.
If your symptoms are bad enough to interfere with your daily routine, HRT could work well for you, but on the other hand, long time HRT is no longer recommended because of the results of some recent long term studies that turned up some cancer issues.
Anway, menopausal symptoms are controllable with proper medical care, so if you are feeling crabby, have it checked out, and see what your options are.

I sincerely hope you'll be feeling better soon.

BTW, Craig, there is consensus in our profession that there is a male menopause-like syndrome, so don't count on your getting out of it!:P
