Default Things that no longer apply ...

Don't know what started this chain of thought, but I got to thinking this morning of some things that no longer apply to us. Maybe some of you can add to the list?

1) That old Special K commercial where they say that if you can pinch an inch (of excess skin around the waist), you're fat and need to switch to their brand of carbs to lose weight. A year ago, I couldn't pinch an inch because it was all filled in so tight there was no slack. Now I have no trouble finding an extra inch loose skin (more if I roll it up! ) Maybe I was healthier then?

2) NutriSystems advertises these marvelous weight loss testimonials, such as "I lost 25 pounds in three months on NutriSystems!"*
*Disclaimer - Results are not typical.
For $300- a month ($900- total) a 25 pound weight loss is not expected? Sheesh! Why bother?

3) Lipozene claims that it is the only fat burner "proven effective in university tests."**
**Disclaimer - Average weight loss 3.86 pounds in 8 week trial.
Less than 4 pounds in two months? Around here that's called a "stall"!
(I notice that they don't advertise their cost, so I looked it up on their website and found out why. At the recommended dosage, a $30- bottle lasts 10 days. For 8 weeks, that'd be $168-, or just over $43.52 a pound!)
BTW - their ads say "it's so easy. Just take Lipozene." Oh, so this is the "easy" way to lose weight, is it? Humbug!!!

We have set ourselves apart from the way the world sees weight loss. Could that be the reason there are so many rumors about how terrible WLS is? Who's making money off us as we lose it all (besides the vitamin and supplement industry?)

Any other examples of stuff that we have put behind us?

Merry Christmas to all!! As Tiny Tim said "God bless us, every one!"

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

One thing that no longer applies...elastic waistbands. I know sometimes they are part of the outfit or pantsuit, but I will never again pay for a pair of jeans that have an elastic waistband.

judijo I totally agree. No more elastic~!!! I still have issues with that. I go to try something on and say to myself oh its not gonna fit I wont be able to buckle it or zip and it still surprises me every time.
No more elastic~!!

I'm still doing elastic jeans much to my families dismay...lol. I dont know if this is on the same line....but, SF and FF read the labels forever because it isnt as cut-n-dry as it may appear. We will always ned to read. Kathy

Ha ha I love the Special K ad. Right there with you Perfesser....but I'll take the skin and pinch or pull an inch then not an inch.

My personnal one that comes to mind right now...I had a mammogram last week and it didn't hurt at all. I know weird.

They say our animals, usually dogs, look like their owners (mine is a sheltie) but lately I've been considering a shar-pei - seems appropriate somehow - LOL!

Things that no longer apply:
1) Wow the dryer shrunk my clothes again
2) Stretching my 2xl shirt out so I don't have to buy 3xl
3) Asking for a table not a booth so I can fit at a restaurant.
4) Being self conscious due to my size.
5) Sweating all the time even in the dead of winter and not being able to keep up with my kids.
