| Too Cocky?
I think I am getting to cocky with my eating...I got sick twice last night and the pieces were about an inch big. Dah! What was I thinking? Okay maybe I wasn't thinking.
It was a busy day and a lot of activity. Had my sister in the ER for 5 hours and then went straight to folks for a very fast brunch and then opened presents for hours. I had about 2-3 ounces of ham and 1/2 homemade waffle. I was so focues on my sisters comfort and trying to get her some food I must have ate too fast.
I have never been that sick. Needless to say I was going to make a ham for the kids and I tomorrow for our exchange but put that it in the freezer and took out a beef tenderloin.

| I think you hit the nail on the head when you said your focus was elsewhere ~ maybe after the holidays things won't be quite so hectic. Wishing you and your family well~~~~

First I want to say, I hope your sister is feeling better. I also have to concentrate on my eating. I have already visited with someone while eating and then I lose concentration on my eating and then I swallow food not chewed up good enough and then I have to stop eating and wait till the big piece goes threw the stricture. I have not thrown up for over a year I just have to wait till it passes threw and then I can continue to eat. Once that happens to me I am more careful at that time with the rest of my food to chew it up better, but it does happen I get so involved into a conversation and swallow food to big and I pay for it by the pain of the food going threw the sticture.

I hope your sister is recovering from her surgery. Hope you're feeling better too.
I'm only allowed to have turkey, chicken, fish/tuna pureed right now but I did serve Ham for Christmas dinner for my family and company. I toyed with the idea that "just once" some pureed Ham wouldn't hurt me, but I was too afraid and didn't do it. Now I'm glad I didn't.

I love ham, but I do not trust beef. The common thread, though, is to pay attention to what you're doing when you have something in your mouth. Amazing how once we have a problem with something it haunts us and we never go back to it. About 40 years ago I had an unfortunate experience with a piece of pecan pie that wouldn't stay down. Never trusted pecan pie again, not that it holds any temptation for me since WLS.
