I've always advocated liquid vitamins on this forum. My long term chosen one was GBG 10-in-One, due to high vitamin values. My surgeon loved the supplement values in the original formula of GBG, and I gladly shared brochures on them to my post op support groups. But due to several things--delivery delays twice of 10 days to 3 weeks, decreases in some vitamin values + changing calcium citrate to calcium carbonate + decreasing trace mineral levels from over 700mg to 5 mg + deleting some additional health components + two changes in flavors (interim one was difficult to tolerate) + complaints from other post ops I told about these vitamins = a change in my choice in vitamins. In August, 2008, a new liquid vitamin was introduced called NHR Epic Ultra. It's taste was excellent, like apple cider, and has 2 gr of protein per serving. Delivery was by USPS 2 day Priority Mail, so delivery was within 2-3 days. They offered multiple bottle delivery with reduced shipping cost ($9.90 for one, OR $16 for 2 to 5 bottles). You could order them whenever you wanted on a one time purchase, WITHOUT selecting autoship delivery (GBG only offered autoship delivery). So you can order 5 bottles every 5 months, and net cost is $23.15 instead of $32 a month with GBG. AND the supplemental levels in the NHR vitamins are higher than the original GBG formula I began with in my early post op months. Current values of NHR vs GBG (per serving): D is 600 IU vs 400 IU, trace minerals is 1000mg vs 5 mg, Fruit & Veggie blend (for high antioxidant values) is 4000mg vs 370mg. I note these changes on my blogs and profile story. Please feel free to read them for good tips on post op health. So optimum nutritional levels are available in liquid vitamins vs pilled, liquids begin working 3-4 minutes in the body, and NHR offers an optimum value for their $20 a month cost (plus shipping). The availability of ordering up to 5 bottles as a one time purchase, equals a savings of almots $9 a month on my monthly liquid vitamins. DAVE
