Default Not Big on Internet

Hi - I am new to this forum.. Have to say that I have been reticent to post personal information on the internet, for reasons of privacy. And this seems soo personal. But here goes...

I am 54 yo., and a wife, mom, attorney and engineer.

My weight has become a serious problem for me, affecting my health and quality of life.

I am determined to lose the weight (I weigh abt 310 pounds), and am making an appt with doc about surgery.

I am nervous about complications, and long term effects .. however, if I dont lose weight, I wont have any long term to worry about!

I have been dx with SLE and MS, but have no problems now.. Both are mild
I DO have diabetes and Hashimotos (low thyroid).

So that's my stor y. Oh we also have dogs and cats .

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Thanks to all of you. I will probably be asking man y questions...
Doc, one of m y favorite people was a young Japanese woman who stayed with us a year, while she finishing her masters in elec. engineering at the university. She spoke almost no English and I no Japanese. It was an experience. She was a tiny girl - but when she left she had put on about 25 pounds. To her, America is "Big Land, Big Ice Cream". Maybe now, Americans will relearn more modest goals - all does not have to be big. Certainly not ice cream, or cars or...

Hello and welcome. This is a great site. Good luck with your decision. It took me a few months of research before I made my choice to have the surgery but I would do it again in a minute.
