Scott,
I was not watching but I just picked up my cell phone a few minutes ago and noticed a text message from someone I work with. It said "Hey! Are you watching the Biggest Loser" By that time the show was over. So I have been wondering why this person (who by the way never text me) sent that message. Now I know.

I didn't see it either. I wanted to, but DH hates watching reality shows. I will have to go to the website and watch it.

so the commercials but didnt tune in lost interest in that show does nothing for me being i cant deticate my entire days to work outs and have a trainer/dieticians like them.
SO was this the 19 year old they promo on the commercials that regained to be their
highest looser ever. I think he might need a revision! and yes this is only a tool that can be abused!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!interesting twist the commercial didnt reveal of him so he can really do well when on track... i am a kid at heart and tuned into 90210...just like i used to watch in my 20's!

I saw that. They are so against it that they probably looked for someone who had failed with it. I wonder if it was the same R_N_Y that we all had? I bet it was different and was some time ago. I don't see how he gained all that wt. and didn't stretch his pouch out but it showed on the xray that it was still small. Kinda makes you wonder. Jill and bob were on the tv show the Doctors yesterday and said that they were against any kind of weight loss surgery.. I guess so they can sell there books and tapes and diets. We all know it does work if you work with the tool. It is no magic bullet.. It takes WORK. Just my opinion.. lol dixie

I saw it too and thought much the same as Dixie. Looking for someone who had "failed" to show as an example that WLS "doesn't work".

I also watched the biggest loser last night and I was wondering what you think of the guy who had gastric bypass. Ok here is the question I have and see what you think of this. The guy who had gastric bypass, when I saw him I think he was heavier at one time before the surgery because if you look at his skin he has rolls of lose skin and if you look at the other heavy people they all are tight with their skin but not the one that had gastric bypass.
My hubby was watching the show also and he said to me, when they were on the scale at the first weight in, why where they crying, becasue they knew that they where heavy to begin with. I told him I know exactly how they feel. seeing those numbers so high, it really HURTS to see them and to top it off on front of the whole world. Because I felt so bad when they weight me the first time at the clinic and that hurt too, being so heavy, but it was just me the nurse, doctor and the nutritionist not in front of the whole world. Those numbers where hard to swallow, but that is what I had done to myself.
Another thing I did not like is when one of the trainers talked against the gastric bypass. Because it works for most people and if you do not use the tool right it will come back. For the shows sake they would not reveal how he gained so much back. I bet anything that he did not eat right and did not excercise. I think he went back to his old habits, and we all know that we have to change our life styles of living. That is exactly what they say about the weight loss on the show. Lifesyle change!!!!!! That is the answer.
This is my opinion on the subject.

I think it was last season....they brought back two prior contestants that had done very well on the show....it was the two that were getting married. Anway....when they came back they had both packed the pounds on!!! What that tells me....this show is not realistic for 1 and 2...you have to stick to the program no matter what "tool" you are using to lose weight. Weight can come back....just as fast as we are losing.
