| Am I losing weight too fast?
Got on the scale today and I'm down to 285. I'm only 8 weeks out from my surgery and I love how the weight is melting off but it seems like I've lost a lot. Am I losing it too fast?

Congratulations on your wonderful weight loss!!!
The more weight you have to lose, the faster it will come off early on. The accepted norm is that you will lose half of what you need to lose in the first 6 months, one quarter over the next 6 months, and the last quarter over the next 6-12 months. So, the more you have to lose, the larger the lbs number will be.
Not to scare you, but it will probably slow down a bit soon, and you may hit a stall, but your body will know what to do, so, if you are feeling fine, don't worry.

I'd say you are doing great...my surgeon told us "the bigger you are, the harder your fall" Like Doc says, the more you have to lose, the more you seem to lose initially....at 3 months, I was down 65 pounds....100 pounds at 6 months...stick to your plan, get your protein in and stay hydrated...your body will take care of the rest!

My surgeon told me I could lose 80% of my weight in the first year so this actually sounds right. People are already commenting they can see the difference (someone said they could see my cheek bones - I have cheek bones? ).

That's great Cat and Sarah! I am getting those comments too now. Couple ladies here are like "ok skinny, you can quit now" LOL I am far from "skinny" but love it when they laugh about me holding up my pants when I walk. Guess I better look into a new size LMAO!!!
