Question Is it as good as you expected?

I know how i feel, (like a million bucks! lol) just wondering how great (or not) do you feel now that you have the TOOL and are losing?

Is it what you expected-- do you look like you thought you would?

Just wondering...

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Losing weight was a lot of fun. I enjoyed it greatly, but it was somewhat expensive not being able to wear anything for very long. Maintaining so far has been a great experience! I am eating what I want in the amounts I want. (The key to doing that is to adjust what and how much you want to fit the definition of sanity for us now!) I don't feel deprived in any way. Can't say that for when we were on low-carb trying to maintain.

Healthwise, I feel wonderful! I thought I felt okay before. I feel so much better after, there is no comparison. It's like going from twilight to full noon. In twilight you think you can see okay, but let the sun rise high and things are much better.

Do I look like I thought I would? Nope. Not even close. I would have been happy to settle in somewhere around the original goal the doc set for me of 184 pounds. I remember that weight, and didn't mind the thought of being there again. My body had other ideas. I don't remember ever in my life (past junior high at least) being at this weight. Coming out of basic training, in the best shape of my life, I was at least 15 pounds heavier than I am now. I have never seen myself this skinny (there - I said it - skinny. Skinny. SKINNY!!!) So no, I don't look at all like what I expected. I think I look better!

I'm not really sure what I expected. I went into this with no support group of any kind, solo as it were. I did not expect this. This is so much better than I had dared hope! It's been one heck of a journey, and it ain't over yet!! Gotta hold near this weight now for a few years to come.

i think it has had its pros and cons for me.
losing weight and gaining health is wonderful. but sometimes being a "success" is somewhat threatening to others and so it becomes a lonely place...

congrats on your successes and may you have many more.

I never in my wildest dreams thought I would get as far as I did and I still have a ways to go. I feel absolutly awesome and so much energy. The world has so much to offer and I am right in the middle of it. I still do not see what my family and freinds see, but I know I feel wonderful. I am so looking forward to this coming summer, we have so many things planned to do this coming summer. One thing I am hung up about and that is looking at other people stats and comparing them to mine. I know I should not do that but it is one of my hang ups that I need to get into my head that I cannot do that. I am in a stall now and a bad stall now for over two months and it is bugging me to no end, but I will not starve myself and I follow the program and hoping once it is Spring that I can get outside and get into the dirt and just the walking outside will get things starting to roll again. This is what I need to work out in my head for now.

I agree with Kenyar, it has it's pros and cons. I feel wonderful and I look so much better than I ever would have dreamed. Success is such a great thing, especially when it's something you did for yourself, but I can see where it is threatening to others...some of my biggest supporters in the beginning have said to me you have lost enough, maybe gain a few pounds back. I know that these people have 10 to 30 pounds they themselves want to lose and are having a hard time doing it. Are they jealous? I hope not cause we put ourselves and our body through a heck of a journey. I pray that the "threatening" feeling passes for them, just like our "what if" feelings the hours before our surgery passed for us.

It's actually SOOOOO much better than I expected! I hoped to get to this weight, but I never imagined how I would look and it's so weird to appear 'normal'. I just don't like my hair as much now, but it'll grow back. At least now I 'have the face' for short hair, lol.

I have to say with only being 5 days away from surgery this post has surely made an impact. I am not nervous about the surgery its the afterwards. But hearing how happy and pleased you all are makes me know I am doing the right thing! I know it's a long road to get where your at.... but I will see you there soon!
