| This is one reason we should take our vitamins! (New York-WABC, April 7, 2006) - An increasing number of Americans who are obese are turning to bypass surgery. The procedure helps people limit their food intake, but if patients aren't careful, it can also cause some unwanted side effects.
Leticia Tucker battled her weight for years. Then five years ago, she opted for gastric bypass surgery. Doctors rerouted her digestive system, making her stomach smaller and limiting the amount of food her body could absorb.
But with that lack of absorption comes a lack of vitamins, which means patients need to take vitamin supplements, including vitamin A, which plays a part in good eyesight. Leticia lost more than 200 pounds and also began losing her sight. She continued driving.
//
Leticia Tucker, Vision Loss Patient: "I could see cars but I couldn't make out a tag or a red light."
Leticia had stopped taking her required vitamins, a dangerous behavior. According to her doctor, she couldn't even make out the big 'E' at the top of the vision chart.
Dr. Lee put Leticia on vitamin A supplements and literally restored her vision. After one year she was back to 20/20 vision.
Vitamin A vision loss is unusual. Doctors see a lot of vitamin D deficiency and that can lead to other serious health problems. Doctors tell us the surgery is just the beginning of handling the weight problem. Follow up and strong health habits afterwards are just as important and that includes taking the vitamins supplements.

I use the CENTRUM CHEWABLES that i get in walmart resonably priced.
THE e-store on RR board here has some great flavored chewables in cool flavors but just not in my budget at those prices.
I do the adult i find they have more things us adults need then the childrens chewables. I have had perfect blood work so i dont plan
to change them at all.
GOOD LUCK
