Hello everyone,
I am so excited I have to tell you all about my wonderful day today. As you all know the automotive industry is really looking bad right now. I have worked in this industry for 10 years now and have a really good job in supply chain management. Earlier this week we had a meeting where a very grim picture was painted about drastic cuts coming by the end of this week. So needless to say I have been very worried all week. Well today right before time to leave I was called to the office for a meeting with just me and my superiors. Talk about neverous!!! But guess what I still have a job. And am getting promoted to a position answering only to the highest person in our facilty. It involves a lot less stress. And I will be in charge of costing and alot of other fun stuff working with corperate people around the world in our other facilities. I am so so so excited. My superiors were full of great comments about my work ethics and abilites. I am on cloud 9. Of course I will have to train some of my co works on doing my old job before I can start my new one. But I am so happy to be keeping a job (getting a better one) when so many cuts are being made. That was just the beginning of my good day.

2nd part
When I got home today their was a message from my surgeons office telling me to call them. It was about my labs. They results GREAT with a capital G. They said everything was great. I was really worried about the A and the iron because I have not taken any iron at all since surgery.

3rd part
My husband also works in the same facilty as me. So we have also been worried about his job also. But he was told today he would be staying in his position but cross training on another job so he can take another persons place when she goes on medical leave next week.

Sorry this was so long but I had to tell someone. I am not allowed to tell about the job thing at work until Monday. I would explode by then. Thank God I am off tomorrow.

I really want to celebrate. Think it would be okay if I have a thimble full of wine tonight?

Thanks so much you guys. I know what you mean Judijo there is so much bad news now a days. I am so happy to report some good news. I just had to come home and tell my extended online family or I was going to burst. LOL

As a fellow survivor of the automotive industry, I know what it takes to get this kind of news. You must be quite a gal for them to pick you like this! Congratulations!! This is wonderful news! It's good to get a success story from the auto sector!

Thanks so much Perfesser. This really means so much to me. I am so excited and now scared because the initial WOW is wearing down and the what ifs are setting in. But you know what. I will attack this job just like my old one plus some. Thank God I had this surgery. I think this surgery gives you so much more self esteem. Which in turn affects all aspects of ones life. Way to go Janice.. I am not surprised at all. You have your sip of wine.. you deserve it. It is so good to hear good news with so much bad news around.
