Thumbs up Sunbeam Rocket Grill Eval

I noted that I had ordere the Rocket Grill from QVC 1-2 weeks ago. It came and I've used it several times, as well as my granddaughter. The only thing I did not like about it was the "cheesy ad stickers" that came on the unit and these were promptly removed. The unit has a "cooking guide wheel" for different foods and how well done you prefer them, that stores in a compartment in the bottom of the unit. The trial test was grilled cheese sandwich. Made on 7 grain breads, 2 pieces of Americal sliced cheese. Turn on unit, and allow to warm up for 3-4 minutes. Sandwich was not coated in any butter or margerine. Just two pieces of bread with two pieces of cheese in the middle, slide it into the parchement cooking bag. Turn on Rocket Grill for 3 minutes, and it comes out great. Grilled marks, cooked cheese well too. I've also tried it with some spiral sliced ham leftovers with the cheese and that works well at 3 minutes too.
A few minutes ago I just returned from Smart & Final, where I had purchased some flash frozen Tyson chicken thigh filets (no bones). I set the Rocket Grill switch from fresh to frozen foods, and turned on for 4 minutes. I took out one of the Tyson chicken thighs and placed it into bag. Placed the bag into the unit, set for 9 minutes and walked away. Nine ninutes later the bell on the R.G. rang, and I opened it up and pulled out the bag. Fats and oils had drained down into the segmented bag, thus removing fats from chicken thigh. The meat was still very moist, had some grill markings, and tasted so good. My dogs were going nuts over the aroma in the kitchen. So it works as demo'd on TV--fats drain off of meats easily, and just discard the bag--no cleanup needed. Two thumbs up. DAVE

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I am currently selling off some of my grandfather's silver coin collection to pay for a good wheat grinder, but as soon as I get that, this grill will be on my list of kitchen doo-dad "must haves"

Your reviews are great, Dave. Thanks.

I just saw this on QVC this morning and thought it'd be a neat gadget. I'm glad you did a review. Although my DH probally won't go for it. I had to buy my toaster oven at a yard sale, now he loves it and says he couldn't live without it.

Hey, would the rocket grill cook frozen burritos? (DH and DS's fave)

It would probably do so, but you'd have to experiment with exact cooking times. I cook Tyson frozen chicken thighs daily in mine, and it works extremely well. Grilled ham and cheese work well too. Cooking frozen chicken, beef, or fish works well. There is no "guide" to cooking frozen burritos, but I do cook these in the microwave. I place the burrito on a plate, invert a bowl over it to retain moisture, and cook about 4 minutes in my microwave oven. Cooking time may vary slightly due to he wattage of your microwave. Cost is only about $30 through QVC and about $40 from Sunbeam web sites. DAVE

It works excellent. This AM, I made a grilled cheese with thinly sliced beef roast, chopping the roast into small pieces for digestion. I made one for my self on 7 grain bread, and gave my wife a taste, and she wanted me to make her one too.

I had someone come out get some of the NHR liquid vitamins I have and I showed her the Rocket Grill. She was so impressed, she said she was going home to order one. I recommended the Tyson chicken thighs opposed to the chicken breast meat she'd tried, as she complained about it "getting stuck". Excellent machine. Dave
