Default Colon Cleansing??

I have a weird question. Have any of you done the colon cleansing or detox? A friend and I both want to do it and we both have had Gastric Bypass. Just curious if anyone has done it before. Any input from anyone?

Thanks a bunch I am super interested in it!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

What for? Are you stuck? Constipating big time?
If you really believe that it works for weight loss and stuff, I think not. It may make you temporarily feel lighter, but the best it actually does is make your wallet lighter.
Besides, with your changed plumbing, I wouldn't do something like that without the go ahead from the surgeon who did your surgery if I were you.
My $0.02 here, but if one of my patients with your history posed the Q, this is what I'd say.

Don't know why, but I would be scared to do a colon cleanse after a gastric bypass. It is just a feeling...

I have heard ads on the radio for a colon cleanse/super flush treatment. They claim that "some experts say there may be as much as 25 pounds trapped on the colon walls like Spackle!" If I may speak bluntly, they are full of crap!!

I have weighed myself in the morning, and then reweighed after a really inspirational BM. Total difference, maybe as much as 2 pounds. If 2 pounds can fill the bowl, I would hate to see what that 25 pounds released would do!!!

As Doc says, the purpose of most of these is to cleanse the wallet. There may be water loss associated with it, too, but long-term benefits? You're already on the best weight loss/management program there is! Why tamper with success? If you work the rules, they will work for you. It may not be as sexy, and it's not as fast as they claim, but it is based on science that you know works.

Yes, let the clinic/hospital/medical center and the dr wherever you are having the colonoscopy done know that you are a gastric bypass patient. In fact, let ALL medical professionals know that you have had gastric bypass, no matter how irrelevant it may seem to you. Dentists, eye drs, ENTs, med techs, lab techs, whoever. This is very important, as GBS definately affects what meds you can take, some of your lab results, and some of the other procedures that you may have to get. Also, because you may unknowingly develop deficiencies that show up in your teeth, eyes, etc.
