Thanks, Martha!
We went up to Minneapolis last night for her pre-op class. Next time the clock strikes Thursday, she'll be a new woman! She has been losing weight, and has lost the goal amount they gave her. Some of it she lost just by copying the way I eat, and there has been a nice loss in the last week since she's been on the liquid pre-op diet. I think in all she's lost 12-15 pounds, but the last week ain't over yet! (She was pretty secretive about her starting weight, so I'm not really sure the full amount lost, and a gentleman doesn't pry! )
She's about as ready as ready can be. I'm really proud of the way she's attacked this challenge. It bodes well for her recovery and future success. (And I have permission in advance to nag gently with love if needed!)
I'll fill you in when I get back to the hotel Thursday night.

Peanut has been on my mind alot lately and must be so excited for next Thursday to come and I am excited for her. She has an awesome example to help her along the way. What a great support she is going to have with you helping her all the way. You must be so excited for her to start her journey. Thursday will be here before you know it and then she will be in the losers side of the bench with the rest of us. Peanut, Congrads on your life changing day right around the corner.

I think she started her journey about a year and a half ago when she went with me to my first meeting with the surgeon. She thought she couldn't have it, so she didn't do anything, but she realized that it might be okay for me to do. About 8 months ago I was up for my 6 month checkup and she mentioned to the nurse that she couldn't have surgery. The nurse challenged her on it, and when Peanut realized that she was actually a candidate, her life changed. Didn't take her more than a month or so to sign up for her initial class, and since then it's been the regular round of appointments, tests, nut visits etc. that we all went through. The climax of it all is next week, then comes the long part, losing and maintaining. It'll be so nice to have her with me all the way on eating, shopping for food, sharing the same vocabulary and experiences, etc. Having done Atkins with me years ago, she already is familiar with the concept of stalls, and knows there'll be some. We're measuring her tonight.
Peanut's abiding passion is family history research. She's been working lately with old pictures and came across some of her when we were in college and our early married years. She's ashamed that she is so far from that pretty little thing, but she's got it under control how to get back to her! We are both excited about this and the future it'll open for her.

Peanut,
I have been thinking about you alot this week also. I am so so so excited for you. I will keep you in my prayers.
Perfesser,
I would say "You take good care of her" but that would be pointless to say because I know you will. You both are so blessed to have each other. Keep us posted we will all be waiting to here from you.
