Wink Losing HAIR: "And so it begins..." (pictures - kinda gross...)

JUST A WARNING:
I know no one wants to see my ol' hair balls....but, when I was inquiring with everyone else....how much hair they were losing....I never knew what some may consider a lot....or just a little....etc.

So....last night while coloring my hair - Hubby and I noticed the large quantities of hair coming out! A little thru the process I told my hubby, "Lets save it...." I wanted to take a picture....of course to post it!!!

If you are curious about hair loss....(remember, everyone is different) and you wonder what I consider "a Lot" to be....here it is!!!

This is what I consider to be a lot....esp. just for coloring and washing my hair!!! Wow.....
Although I'm stunned....I'm not completely freaking...I don't have any really bald spots....and I'm felling like my hair has really stayed "IN" today....LOL

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I don't think you reall go bald, or get bald spots the way patients going through cancer chemotherapy gets--that is really tough. Just a thinning out, that bothers the person most. Also, once you are done with the weightloss, it will all come back.

ok i know i'm a little vain about my hair, it's one of my favorite things about this big ol body, but that looks like alot. Good thing you don't have any bald spots. I know everybody is different so i won't worry about it too much until i get there. However Doc, you are right, it is no where near as close to the hair loss that cancer, chemotherapy patients lose, so that's something i'll try to keep in mind when it happens to me, (please remind me when i freak out about it?), the whole i cried because i had no shoes and then i saw a person who had no feet philosophy.

My hair has always been baby fine, thus the appearance of being thin to begin with. The other day I used a wide tooth comb thinking that it would be easy on the hair. I still had a significant amount of hair in the comb.

Well Deb, that seems to be the normal amount for me anyway! I did loose a lot but had a ton to begin with. My hair did thin out quite a but but never bald. You could see the top of my scalp a little but not enough to stress about.

Now let me complain! I started loosing my hair about 3 months out and stopped at about 6-7 months. Here I am now at 15 1/2 months out and starting to loose my hair again. I know it's because I just lost a big amount of weight in less than a month but damn, I thought I was done with loosing hair!!!!!!

I actually need to update my ticker again. I did not post to anyone, I have been working very strong to loose my last 30 -50 lbs. and I think I am doing well so far. Since the second week of September, I have lost another 13 lbs.

Wow, Shelley, you sure are doing well!!
Very good example for those who worry that their losing is done once they hit a major stall.
You can keep on losing even after a year, and even after your honeymoon is over. It's all in the right life style, eating what's good for you body, and exercising in the way your body needs.
Congrats on the weightloss.
(Um, sorry to hear about your hair loss, hugzzz)
