Height: | Okay, so this may be more in the stupid question catagory....but did you guys buy special dishes that were small and premeasured? If so, where did you get them, what kind of thing did you use, and did it help a lot? One of my friends said that she used a 2 oz shot glass to help her visualize her portions prior to surgery. Even though she would eat more she would start off her meals pre-op with the tiny portions to get her mind used to it. Did any of you do this, and did it help? Janae |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | oaky PILLOWS no question is stupid!!!!! I didnt go out and buy dishes but I did have in my home these little toddler/baby food plastic bowls that i eat out of still. FOR me this works because i dont eat slow....i tend to over eat. BUT if I eat my small bowl sized portion of food i stop and i know im done. THIS saves me alot of getting sick from over eating. IF i eat on a big dinner plate i just take to much, eat to much and feel rotten for hours. SO for me these small plastic bowls have been perfect for me. I have used these bowls for all three kids of mine when babies and now for me ! GOOD LUCK and keep asking away thats what this board is for! AS for drinking cups i bought the very small dixie cup size cups too for those first days too for food and drinks when i was very early post op too! LAZY lady here likes to toss them out ...the size I got were I bought the 3 ounce ones ....and then moved up to the toddler bowls after i was well on regular foods and 4 ounce meals! all the best xoxox lisa 310/177/???

Height: | Thanks Lisa, I went shopping today at Walmart with my friend and just casually glanced through the baby food selections available. I remember in high school my friends and I actually bought some of it to take with us on bus trips. Back then my fave was a Hawaiin fruit mix. When I saw the ones that have the plastic square containers with lids, I started thinking that would be a good idea. Janae |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I think i confused you in my reply. I use TODDLER storage bowls to eat from that are very small...i dont eat babyfood,. THE only thing i used in babyfood was unsweetened applesauce stage 1 to take the pain meds in and that wasnt something i liked and got off the pain meds fast for that reason. SOME people eat babyfood at the pureed stage, I did not. DO watch babyfood does have sugar added to make it appealing for babies so read read labels. I preferred pureeing foods I like and ate alot of CHICKEN salad at that stage, and my noodless lasagna to get thru puree. GOOD LUCK and sorry if i confused you lisa

Height: | Lol... I knew what you were talking about, I have toddlers too, I know that one of my friends ate baby food a little in transition, so that is where I got that idea from. I am going to bid on a magic bullet system on ebay today since tax returns are finally here. I love chicken and tuna salad. I am going to have tuna salad for lunch today. I know this isn't diet allowed, but I love making chicken salad and adding crushed fritos to it, weird I know, but I can't help it. I love the stuff. Janae |

Height: | Thanks lisa, it is good to know that I am not the only weird one out there that likes different combinations. I will have to check out the tortilla crisps once I am to that stage. I went to a gourmet chef store today and almost bought some General Tso's sauce, but didn't know if I will tolerate it after surgery, and knew I wouldn't use it all before. They also had a really yummy crab bisque soup mix that I sampled, but the $5 for a mix that makes 3 cups was a little rich for me to swallow. I think that my hubby was embarrased when I told him that the sample cup he had it in would be a serving for me soon. He is going to have to get past that soon, cuz I am not gonna be completely to myself about what I am doing. I have never been that person and never will be. He usually isn't either, it may be because he is really tired and didn't go to sleep this morning after his shift was over so he could spend time with me. I did find around X-Mas time some custard cups at the dollar store that have lids and can be put in the freezer/oven/microwave/dishwasher. They came in pairs of two and I figure that they will make awesome dishes for me later. That way when I make a meal I really like, I can set aside some leftovers and store it easily for me. Janae |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | YES pillows i would think the General Tso's sauce might not be good for you post op. NEED to learn to read the labels. I am a very big label reader now. I check protein, fat, sugar, carbs to make sure its within my tolerable eating range. COOL that your planning now but do keep in mind that what we like now you may not crave post op. MANY of my eating likes and dislikes have changed...its so weird at times but dont regret it ever. YES its hard to comprehend the small size of eating but in time you will get to more normal portions. I cant ever figure out my pouch! ALL the best keep in touch lisa
