| OT- Gift for Marriage Vow Renewals??
Just opinions on proper etiquette. Some friends of ours are renewing their vows in 3 weeks for their 25th Anniversary. I was wondering if it is proper to give a gift or just a card?? They have a beautiful home and really don't need anything. There was no gift registration info enclosed, just the invite to celebrate with them and cake afterward at the church.
Opinions please!!!

That's a tough one - usually when someone is celebrateing something and they DON'T want gifts, it will say something like 'your attendance is all that is expected' or something like that. My suggestion would be to call and ask - 'did I miss where you were registered?'
If no gift is is expected but you still feel like you don't want to show up empty handed...or don't want to ask...
A donation to something they are passionate about in their name.
Their invite done up very pretty in a frame with lace, dried flowers...
Good luck!

That is difficult. I would bring something simple. I think the 25th anniversary is the silver anniversary so I would get a sterling silver frame to put a picture of them renewing their vows in.

I agree with a sterling silver picture frame or something like that. I think that's a perfect idea.

| If you and she are really close, I'd give her some cute lingerie just like at a bridal shower ~ or maybe a massage for couples at your local spa? Even a gift cert for a nice quite deli or lunch spot in your neighborhood would be nice.

Thanks for the advice. I like the idea of the silver frame.. and a gift certificate is nice too. Gives me something to think about and shop for.

Something silver, or did you know them when they got married? If so, what did you give them then? Perhaps you could give them the same thing you gave 25 years ago, if it's a viable gift?

Yes, I agree with everyone a nice gift would be appropriate, I personnally wouldn't feel right going without a gift of some sort.
Hope you have a nice time..x
