| I made it back to work today etc.... long post
First day back in 1 1/2 weeks being out. I was tired after 30 mins but made it all day. The nurse i work closely with made it easier for me today. The Dr come up and hugged me and told me how much she missed me while i was out. I almost fell outta my chair. Never in a million years would my old Dr have said that. Much less asked me how I was doing.
She called a colleuge friend of hers whom is a neurologist and asked how she could help me while working. He said if possible no undue added stress and make sure the work load was shared equally. Well it really helped alot yesterday because i feel somedays my legs are 5 foot in front of my body trying to get everyone taken care of and keeping up with our Dr. I never thought I would love working for a woman Dr but yes i do. She cares. He also give her signs to look for and shared them with me. This might help me in the long run i hope!
With any job you worry about missing to much work even though it involves your health. Health does come first but you still have to think about the time your missing. I seen my supervisor yesterday in the hall in passing. I told her i was so sorry about the time I had to miss but I did let her know I had a Drs excuse to cover the entire time off. She said Vickie..... we would love to have you here and no your not eligible for FMLA yet because you hve not been here quite a year but she stated that when i was first hosptialized she called the main managemtn department and explained my situation and they give her the go ahead to place my time for my seizures in one group. Counting them as just one day for no matter how many days I have to miss. Kinda like FMLA for people who have not been employed a entire year.
She stated to me that many of the Drs i worked for hadc come to her asking that I be given a reprive so to speak about my health because I was such a good worker and knew what I was doing. She said she didnt need that part upon calling them but it never hurt to submit it.
In turn they are just worried about me and will keep check on me daily asking if im ok and if I need rest. It seems I was a bit pale yesterday and looked worn out but I was fine. My mind was on my job the entire day so I was good. They do have a nurse in my department that used to work in neurology that comes by to check on me a few times a day without making it obious. LOL. I didnt realize that until yesterday when I was told that. She had told them a couple weeks ago I was looking symptomatic to her and for them to not let me go off by myself far. ( Like the mile walk to the cafeteria in the main hosptial). Sometimes i do that at lunch for excersise just take a walk. Our clinic is connected to the hosptial but it expands for ever.
Anyways Im ok right now. I have a Drs appoitment this am at 900 with my PCP. My lab work I have to take him from last week looks really good. My blood has bulit up well and im acutally a tad over in the counts so he should be happy.
My hubbys Diabetes has now been in check well in the past couple of days. It was in the 400s when they dianosged it and now its running about 110. They used meds and diet to bring it back to normal. He automatically feels much better. Hes eating like I do now and is amazed how much better he feels. he dont have to supplement with snacks like he used to. He eats what I do but more of it of course. LOL. My son is eating like we are now to and swears he feels better. He cut out the snacks to he was eating between meals and is eating my type of snack if I have to have one.
The dog is healed up nicely. Hes gotten spoiled now and wants to stay in the house most of the time. Im not really fond of that idea. Hes always come in when its cold to spendthe night but when he was hurt we had to leave him in all day except when he had to use greatoutdoorsfor his business. He had a massive joint injury but no break and a torn Cornea with a horrible cut into his lid. It had stitches which I took out sunday. Yes i was allowed to do this. Hes off his pain meds and will be off his antibotic in the next couple of days. We thought we were gonna lose him at first. He was pretty torn up. All because of a female stray that came here a couple weeks ago and was in heat. The vet stated he was trying to protect her and not let anyone esle mate her. Hes been fixed but she wasnt and neither was the other 5-6 dogs comming around for a sniff. He did go out long enough yesterday to kill a rabbit. So hes getting back to normal. Hes part Hound and part St Benard. LOL what a mix huh. His brother has the head of the St benard and my Duke has the nose of the hound and is so pretty. Laid back fella. Hes a big old 74 pounds of nothing but musle. During all the time at the vet last week they never had to sedate him even upon stitiching him. The vet was very impressed. She stated most dogs have to be when they are xrayed and always have to be done upon stiching. Hes so mild mannered he just let them do what they needed to and never whinned or jerked much less moved to snap at them. She said he was very healthy except for his injurys and could tell he had been taken very well care off. She asked us if it ever come a time where we could no longer keep him for any reason to let her know she would take him in a heartbeat. We never see that happeing. She could tell hes still a pup. Just at a year old.
Ok well I have wrote my novel again......sigh sorry yall. I hope you were nice and bored to read me . im fine.

Vickie... sounds like you have some great people watching out for you. Take care of yourself and let us know what they find out about your seizures. That sounds like scary stuff. So glad hubby is doing better too and that the dog is on the mend. Hopefully, things will keep improving.

It's good that your whole family is eating better now. Peanut joined me in the way I eat after I stabilized and could eat again. She hates to cook, and I like to, so if she wanted to avoid cooking, she had to eat what I was! (In fairness, she does the cleanup after, so we're sharing the load.) So it's been no adjustment at all to get used to her new dietary requirements as she starts back on real food.
Your dog sounds adorable! I had a strange mix once, too. Cross between a black Lab and a dachsund, and no, I don't know how. He had the massive front end and head of his Lab father with the long tiny body of his mother grafted on from the shoulders back. Coming down stairs, he'd always overbalance and tumble to the bottom, but he was a cheerful mutt and thought that was just how it was done. Took getting hit by a school bus three times to kill him. (Cheerful, yes. Smart, no!) I still miss that hound! Glad yours is responding well.
Hope you and the dog are at 100% real soon!!
