Hi everyone,
I had my check up today and the doctor seems to think I might have a stricture. I have to call in the morning to schedule a scope for this week. He wants it done ASAP.
I will keep you posted on when it is and what they find out! Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers this week!!!

 I'm sooooo sooooo sorry to hear about this, but thrilled that you went to your doc, and are hving the tests to find out what is going on. I don't have a "clue" what will have to be done if you have a stricture...but I'm praying for you that you will begin to feel normal again. Thanks for posting and keeping us in the loop!!  | |

BREN i had been so concerned with that being you
were still not well with the ulcer meds.
RELAX and im sure all will be fine and they will correct this.
I am not an expert on this but they re stretch the opening up
so that food can pass. not a big ordeal, sometimes has to be
repeated. I imagine they are going to scope you and find out.
GOOD LUCK
keep us updated.
BUT i was thinking along this line the other day when i read
your still not haveing luck with foods. I am gald once
again your doctor is on top of your situation.

(((((HUGS))))) bren, I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers that all go well.
A stricture is sort of like a puckering up of a scar. You may have exprienced something like that with cuts on your skin. Sometimes, the scar puckers up while healing, and that can happen on the inside, too.
If you do have a stricture, the dr doing the scope will gently stretch the opening (usually it's done by a balloon that is put in the stoma--the opening-- that is then enlarged) to the size it should be. Sometimes, it takes a few times before the opening settles to the size it should be.

Thanks Doc..... I had no Idea....but that was a great discription. I had one of my lap scars from when I had my Gall Bladder out years ago do that...(pucker out).....so I have a great visual of what that is like inside with our new pouch.! I think it's cool that the guy doing the scope can start the process.... | |

during the scope? or do you have to go back under?
