5' 6" Height: |  Do you remember your First Time... that you posted on this board or chatted with someone?  For me, it was 2 days or so before surgery and it was about 11PM. I got on the chat board with this Goth looking chick and a woman who had her hair wrapped holding some babys with birthday hats on. They made me feel very comfortable and told me to ask anything any time. I told them that they would probably get sick of me. I was a transplanted Yankee in Cheesehead land. One turned out to be a Petrolium Geophysicist from another country and the other a Fashion Designerfrom Texas. Both are wives, mothers and two of my favorite people.  Girls...I thought of this last night while falling asleep and smiled all the way to slumberland. Thanks for the 1st helping hand here. Does anyone else have a 1st time they'd like to share? |

I was immediately welcomed by Craig and DocSanae. SHORT time later the membership contest was created and the membership SOARED since! GOT to admit I have made many wonderful friendships from the board.

| WLS Mentor  | For me it was after my second trip to Rochester for first appointment with the nutritionist. I had met someone at the hotel who was just starting one her one week in Rochester after the surgery and she was from Ontario, close by. She had given me her e-mail address and told me about talking to pre and post ops online. She didn't give me the site address so after not hearing from her through phoning and e-mail i went looking for myself. The first board i came to was this one and it's been love from first sight. (hehe, no pun intended). I didn't post for awhile but came in around 10am looking for chat and friend was there to welcome me to. Made me feel so comfortable and loved. (Warm fuzzy feelings ffom friend every time i talk to her), I felt i had finally come home. Membership was still small then compared to what it is now.

You're mostly welcome honey and you have no idea how much you have a big influence on me although I'm one month or so older than you are but you're such an insightful and wise person that everyday I learn from you. For me first time I chatted and posted on this web was almost 15 days before the date of my surgery and I remember how much these lovely people were so much welcoming and supportive that I fell in love with this new support group from the first sight. These great people where DocSanea, Lisa, Deborah, Pillows, Shelly. But Lisa among all she replied to every single enquiry that I had and I felt so much taken care of from her. Thank you Lisa I love you pal! DocSanea and as usual with her infinite wisdom she gave me all the medical links and backgrounds behind this approach. My first welcome was from Doc Sanae & the BigT.....I remember thinking...wow, this is a coool sight - I felt soooo welcomed! Finally, I gained the welcome wagon with Lisa, Janae, and LisaMarie! These 5 really were encouraging the 6 weeks before my surgery. I disappeared two weeks b/4 my surgery...b/c I wasn't sure if it was gonna happen... When it did...the first chance I got, I was back on the board and welcomed by the same ol' gain...and then my sweetest TWIN SIS ChuppyGirl!!! She had her surgery one day before mine...and b/c of the time changes....who know...we may have been doing it at the same time?!?! KAT~ Ooooh, you are my favorite sweetie  ....and I'm thrilled to know that Hanadi & I were your first experience!!! Oooooh, do you believe in Love at first sight?? You were definitely LOVE!!! And what a dear dear friend you've been to me.....oooooh I love you lady!!!
